OAN 115/2018 – MAN-TP MAJOR TAXIWAY SURVEYS (PP04) PHASE 4
THIS OAN REPLACES OAN 96/2018 WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT OAN REF:‐ 115/2018

1.0 SUMMARY In advance of works to construct the new Taxiway Echo, a fourth phase of surveys will take place which require taxiways and stands to be temporarily closed or restricted until the end of December.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Overall: 14/11/2018 to 21/12/2018.
2.2 Working days and times: Sunday to Thursday, working hours nights only (20:00‐06:00).
2.3 Works in individual areas are to be determined on a shift‐by‐shift basis within the overall programme. Sufficient taxiways and stands will always be kept available in order to maintain the flying programme.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The survey works are required along the length of the proposed Taxiway Echo, from the Western Maintenance Area entrance, extending as far as Stand 72 and across Taxiway November from Stand 69 through Stands 82 and 83 to Stands 210 and 211.
3.1.1 The areas are generally bounded by taxiway strips and the edges of stands.
3.1.2 There is also an area covering the current West Gate security post and RVP West gates. Access to this area is to be agreed with the on‐shift Airfield Security Team Manager at the 1930 shift coordination meeting on a shift by shift basis.
3.2 The scope of works is:
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey of all areas.
Topographical survey

4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Stand Closures and restrictions
4.1.1 Stand closures will be required but will be managed tactically to reduce their impact on the operation.
4.2 Taxiway closures and restrictions
4.2.1 Sections of Taxiways Delta, Quebec and November will be closed individually for several overnight shifts, returning to service by 0600 hours.
4.2.2 Access to stands served from closed taxiways will require a 10‐minute warning to the contractors and be coordinated through Airfield Control.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 The works will have no effect on Low Visibility Procedures. The ADM will determine in conjunction with the ATC Watch Manager whether any works may take place during LVP.
