Clearly got a bit of a bee in my bonnet about what LPL is attracting just now - although all credit to them, but they are also getting Southwind next year but apparently have an A321NEO. All that said is some of this down to available capacity at MAN where LPL is concerned. Equally we also know there are only so many pax LBA can realistically handle at once so 2026 patience does need to be a bit of a virtue here

Let's just worry about LBA and the forthcoming works and what we have, rather than what LPL or any other airport are attracting .

@WH whilst I totally agree it doesn't stop frustrations. Been so much backward thinking at so many levels for so long that LBA is now playing catch up. If 2026 doesn't change anything then I really won't know what to think. And that is from someone who has been right behind LBA for circa the last 50 years

I share your frustration and have felt just as frustrated for the last 60 years, but there's nothing we can do except wait and hope that the next few years bring about an uplift for LBA fortunes, and that the Unmentionables will just do us all a favour and either shut up, or go live near MAN instead.

My point is, that yesterday we had great news, which brought us hope, so let's just bask in the positive ambience for a while rather than start looking at negatives only 24 hours later.. We don't have such a situation often, so let's make the best of it.

LPL have done a fantastic job recently with their route development. Play & Lufthansa are both very possible airlines to have still with our original terminal. Giving their timings, it is not impossible at all.

Southwind have given us a more preferred timings for AYT. EMA, NCL & LPL have disgraceful timings, with an arrival into AYT of 05:00am! at least ours have a better chance at selling. at present the fares on Southwind airlines are very expensive and cant pay in GBP!

(SVX) Ekaterinburg
(KGD) Kaliningrad
(SVO) Moscow Sheremetyevo
(LED) Saint-Petersburg

(STR) Stuttgart

Yes, and Germany via Turkey doesn't really appeal either!

Not just us then.
Perhaps they too are waiting for 737 MAX deliveries that are now delayed?

By all counts forward bookings are lower than expected. Its not just Holiday Best either as I hear quiet a few other Tour operators are struggling to sell Holidays & fill aircraft seats. Big Factors include the Cost of Living and High inflation. The is still no sign either of the Bank of England cutting interest rates yet.

Its defiantly not due weather or diverting at LBA that is for sure. As the cuts are across Southwind Airlines whole UK network.

Could it also be the fact they are a relatively new airline, an unheard tour operator and into the “lions den” up against Jet2 who offer a daily AYT service.

Also as for the Bank of England governor he should have been sacked a hell of a long time ago due his incompetence. But we won’t go there…..

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
