It seeems you have to have a Facebook account to view the "stream" To misquote a famous witness in a case at the Old Bailey, "I'd rather ski naked down Everest with a rose up my nose" than join social media.
I will rely on an unbiased report from onwe of the Forums memebers who actually got a ticket for tonights
"event" Viva LBA !

Well that’s an hour I’ll never get back! The feed is still on the Facebook site if anyone is interested. Vincent did a really good job and a big up to him for facing off to quite a hostile group.
What comes across is just how misinformed the community are about the airport and it’s obligations!

That’s good that Vincent gave a good showing, if people are misinformed by I guess the clowns from the group we won’t mention and the chuckle brothers of Spencer and Alex maybe the airport needs to be more community active with these kind of meetings, let’s hope he put them in there places

The sad thing is that when the Council approved the new terminal it also approved bringing LBAs night time hours in line (2330-0600). Job done and problem gone away until the terminal scheme was withdrawn taking the revised operating hours with it. Now LBAs back to square one.

They who

Lets see how its reported in the media..

Pictures of the usual protests but won’t get them anywhere because the only thing that can be accepted by the Council is relevant, factual and evidenced facts directly connected to the applications. Banners reading “No more night flights” and “We need our sleep” just don’t cut it.

Amazes me that people buy homes close to an airport, which lets face it, the vast majority will have done, and then they moan about night flights. Oh we didn't know! It wasn't so busy! Blah blah blah.

The airports been an airport since the 50s and an airfield prior to that. No excuse. If they dont like it, go somewhere else.

I've lived near LBA my entire life and in that time, which is a long LONG time, I've never been kept awake by aircraft.

I did made the same comment myself several weeks ago.

The reason the planes keep them awake is because they are listening for them. When is the next one coming, I cant sleep, oh I can hear it and it continues, then they work themselves up and get more agitated!

I too, live to the left of 32 approach and sleep in left conversion with windows open in summer, never wakes me up!

The clown group have put something out on there Twitter page with a few pictures

Sorry put this in wrong thread whoops
Blah Blah Blah It's the same FEW protesters each time and nothing to do with airport noise.

If the protesters want more flights to operate in the daytime hours then the airport will need a larger terminal to enable that!

I just think some of the protesters spend all there sad lives waiting for the planes, they probably can’t sleep on a night for thinking about planes, it’s like a obsession with them, anyway on a more positive note I wonder if Spencer stokes is ion gardening leave as it’s very quiet from him

Nothing on calendar either. Yorkshire Post had an article though.

The 4 million people that use the airport can't agree with them. The truth of the matter is the airport has been 24H for decades. The aircraft are proven to be quieter. The new aircraft are significantly quieter. These people are nothing more than NIMBYs and they complain about everything. They'll complain about Supertram when it eventually comes to Leeds.

The trams register more than 80 decibels with her double-glazed windows open and between 60 and 65 decibels with them closed

Ive had an update this evening on my letter to the BBC. At least hey seem to be taking the matter seriously!

“This is an update from the BBC Complaints team.

We wanted to let you know that we have referred your complaint to the relevant people and are still looking into it. We regret that it may take a little bit longer before we can reply. Please wait to hear from us before you contact us any further – we appreciate your patience.

Although we reply to most complaints within 2 weeks we cannot achieve this every time. It depends on what your complaint was about and how many others we are handling, or may sometimes be due to issues outside of our control. Sometimes it can take a while to hear back from the key people involved, but we often find the wait is worth it.

Please don’t reply to this email because it’s sent from an account which can’t receive replies. If you do need to get in touch, please use our webform instead at www.bbc.co.uk/complaints, quoting your reference number.

For full details of our complaints process please visit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/how-we-handle-your-complaint.

Thank you for contacting us - we hope to be in touch soon”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
