They won't put the A321s into Leeds/Bradford, as they know they will not be able to fill the seats
Are you kidding me? LBA the home of Jet2, the place where it all started, the place that had 6 based 757 at one point before they decided to move the 757 equipment to Manchester?

I think you will find that your theory is factually incorrect.

Its where jet2 all started, to the general public LBA is the home of jet2, together with the 4th most populated area in the uk jet2 will always fill planes out of LBA!
im guessing the 2 main reasons we have the 737-300s at leeds is simply due to the fact its currently a 737 only base, the 300s have always been here and always will be, everyone knows how these machines work, the ground crew are familiar with them, i guess its even down to the fact the pilots understanding how they perform at leeds and are aware of what to look out for, im sure there are other factors too.
The other reason i feel we have the 300s is due to terminal capacity and apron space although as we all know this will dramatically improve from 2025 of which im sure we will then see more 800s or possibly the A321s here.

The reason the A321s are not here yet has been done to death with numerous discussions relating to Jet2s policy of reducing engine power on take off to reduce engine wear , given they own, rather than lease the engines. That reduction in power, allegedly, means that they are less suited to the LBA runway with a decent load.
It's also been said, many times, that sooner or later, they will come to LBA, perhaps with the power restriction lifted.

It's all rather frustrating and disappointing and will be especially so when the terminal can better cope with the larger aircraft capacities, but the vast majority of the fleet remains 737s, and most bases remain 737 bases too so we are not alone. LBA isn't being singled out by not having any A321s.

Yes Jet 2 HQ is of course LBA, but back then when they operated the 757, the demand must have been there, doesn't mean the demand is still at the same level now? Don't they have more competiton now then back in the 757 days? Demand can always change!

Do we know what the load factors are like this year out of LBA for Jet2?

And because Jet2 HQ is at LBA, it doesn't always follow it should be the biggest base of aircraft, or have the biggest aircraft type? Look at Easyjet, Luton is its HQ, but is not its biggest base aircraft wise.

Apart from the 737-300s which should have been pensioned off years ago, I'm amazed that anyone gives a **** about what aircraft type Jet2 uses at Leeds Bradford. This forum is getting more like a school playground every day. 'They've got new Airbuses. Not fair. I want them now!'

@Sherburnflyer92 look what I said would happen lol. Everyone, we have done this 321 discussion to death. Let's move on and let them appear when they appear. We have got expansion from LS in 2025 so that is a continued step in the right direction, even if it just more Boeings

I was doing merely to point out statistics of passengers versus flights hahaha!

They made the decision to consolidate the 75’s into one place for all pilots, cabin crew and engineering and tooling. That doesn’t mean demand dropped in fact Jet2 ensured that they compensated for the loss. 5 PMI flights without the 75’s as opposed to 2 75 and 1 800.

It will be the same level if not better due to the demise of Monarch/Thomas cook.

And how many A321 do Easyjet UK have? Very few. They are at LGW, BRS and only recently at MAN.

This obsession with the A321s, have the 737s done something wrong! Haha
Thanks to the jet2 737-300/800s we now have a 4million plus pax airport, they have never really failed when it comes to runway performance issues, the aircraft look decent esp in the silver and red colour scheme and as pointed out in a previous post good leg room.
If runway length and terrain is an issue for the new A321s on reduced takeoff power out of LBA Then like ive mentioned before im betting we will see all jet2s 2nd hand 737-800 here at leeds for many years before we see a single A321, but at least by that point we will be an all 737 800 fleet with more 800s based at the airport due to extra apron and stands available by that point which will increase passenger loads substantially, thats my guess anyway.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
