Is that an increase on the same time last year?

Most of the A321s are flying on a reduced level but the winter schedule is much higher in the last couple of years. There are 6 out of MAN today probably 4 or 5 at BHX and 1 has been at LGW

Says it all that the winter seasonal charter base at London Gatwick gets the A321Neo based in service before we do at Leeds.

I think Jet2 know what they are doing, they know the A321 flights from Manchester/Birmingham will be filled, and make a good profit, the Gatwick charter flights I think are mainly for P&O, or Santa flights, so also make good money for them.

They won't put the A321s into Leeds/Bradford, as they know they will not be able to fill the seats, and make enough profit currently, hence the reason you only get the B733s and B738s, thats good business sense by them, one of the reasons they do well financially, we certainly don't want to see them follow the Monarch or Flybe business model! :ROFLMAO:

On certain routes they would though. Mainland Spain especially and the Canary islands. They obviously have their reasons for not having A321s at Leeds though, it might be a more operational one though.

This is a completely inaccurate statement. When the B757's where based at LBA, 3 and at times 4, they were filled day in day out without fail - no matter the route. When the B757's went down to FNC out of LBA they were consistently loaded with 200+ pax.

Even in the heart of winter on a January Tuesday the B757 would be 90% loaded consistently. Jet2 and LBA know that the A321's will, like the B757, be regularly full leaving LBA.

Says it all that the winter seasonal charter base at London Gatwick gets the A321Neo based in service before we do at Leeds.

The difference is however I believe the charterer is one who requests the aircraft type. Don't think the A321 is sticking around too much longer after the demand for Santa flights drops of a cliff.

LGW ops are nothing to do with Jet2 in terms for capacity etc, its the charterer which obviously are requesting bigger AC then an -800. if they required/requested a -300 in LGW they would get it. In fact a -300 did a LGW-KRK charter this year. Jet2 themselves sell zero seats from LGW. Silly statement.

if someone wanted to charter a 321 NEO out of LBA and paid the correct brass. You would get it.

As Sherburnflyer stated.. 757 regularly filled from LBA in winter. if they couldn't fill the aircraft why on earth are there over 14 based and an extra one announced for S25 :ROFLMAO:

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
