Looking on flightradar24 it looks like Jet2 are sending Boeing 737-300, G-GDFL down to Tenerife this afternoon on the LS223 service

That’s going to be fun getting off runway 14 with it been warm again today. especially with full pax, baggage & fuel load.
In the days of Inter European the 737-300 was a regular on the route.

I feel Jet2 has grown pretty quickly, but it has kept buying older airframes rather than new ones, and now it's showing. The 737-300s should have been retired by now, and a lot of the 800s are in their later years. Yes, I know a lot of people are going to disagree and tell me how well-maintained they are, but that doesn't seem to be the case when they are made to work hard over the summer months.
Before you all start attacking me, yes they bought the old frames due to cash etc…I know…but it's starting to hurt the Jet2 customer satisfaction and brand.

They will have been compensated for the delay but not for the overbooking as in the end they used an -800 it would have been overbooked had they used the -300 back to LBA

And who knows if it was overbooked in the first place? If it was under 148 then Jet2 are in for a winner. No delay or minimal to the flight and use spare resources available to them.

Me as I saw the bag and pax numbers 👍

I only responded as I know the info otherwise I wouldn’t have replied. And I agree with you regards to them using any spare resources they have which they did.

Can I ask the inevitable question? How does this compare with winter 25/26?

I was hoping for more, maybe new destinations. Maybe that will come with more ski flights? I would like to think there would be an increase on Salzburg, it ls part of the City Break offer now but one flight a week is sub-optimal for that type of winter/non skiing city holiday.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
