As Morocco is a Muslim country, current political tensions in the ME may also be deterring some from booking at the moment. I know it's a long distance away but there are often those who react in sympathy. Will be interesting to see what forward bookings are like for Egypt so far?

I was wondering why the 2nd Saturday Salzburg flight wasn't operating this February half term. After some research I found out it hasn't operated since 2023. Somehow I completely missed that. It's not like it wouldn't sell, the half term flights seem to be full this year
The last Salzburg flight operated today for the season. I’ve noticed over the last 2 years that it ends a lot earlier than it has in the past (use to operate until mid April I think) now seems to finish at the end of February.

Shame as most of the SZG flights ive seen do seem busy.

Yeah the Salzburg ski season seems to be a lot shorter with Jet2 ops. Finishing today were Leeds, Edinburgh, London Stansted whilst Belfast, Birmingham & Bristol have an extra 3 weeks operating up until March 21st and Manchester continues until April 11th.

Better new Jet2 increase Leeds - Palma from 2x to 5x weekly next week.

It's the other side of Africa. and near Canary Islands. So if you apply the simple British logic, they will also be weary of travelling to Canaries.

It is like when the political situation happened in Syria. Turkey saw drops, even if all tourists spots were well away from the border, but the one country that also saw a drop in British Tourism was Cyprus. Other areas are also affected.

British will look at in a map and go oh yeah no where near it.

What will be interesting is not what the booking are like so far for SSH or HRG (given we are a year away) but more what it does NOW to any forward bookings. It'll also affect Cyprus ten fold - that will be the one to watch.

Mind you Cyprus have rejected Benjamin Netanyahu under fear of being attacked by Iran for allowing the war mongering terrorist to hide in Cyprus (before anyone says a thing - Spain have issued a warrant for his arrest due to war crimes).
And given our lack of backbone or as some left wing people call it international diplomacy I believe it maybe not as bad as think. If we get involved then a very different story indeed.

Egypt, Turkey and Cyprus must have just gone onto the watch carefully list by Steve Heapy and the board of Jet2.

I returned from Agadir on Wednesday after 5 nights down there. I didn’t report on here as both my flight were from and back into
LTN with EZY(travelling with southern friends) All I can say is both flights were on A320’s and totally full. My 5th time to Agadir and I can honestly say I’ve never seen AGA as busy as it was this week.

Any chance of a little trip report in the Luton forum?

Anywhere 'within range' of Iran or possibly even Lebanon has to be of concern.

I had not heard of any plans for Jet2 to resume MAN-TLV. It does not fit their current profile. But, as you say, all bets are off for TLV in the foreseeable future.

There isn't any plans. But given how long businesses plan ahead, if they thought about TLV (they now serve LTN which is a big LON-TLV route so if lucrative could tap into), as we say all bets are off. Until we are in a much more stable world. Which will not happen for a long time.

Pull the Egyptian flights before they even start if I was a betting man
Good old LBA again, always happens, everytime the airport secures new flights something happens altho with egypt even whilst the Israel/gaza war continues the Egyptian resorts are in full operation with the Yemeni houthi regime occasionally firing missiles just to the east of the red sea into Israel!
Could be increased demand for spain, balerics and canaries this year!

Yes, when there are issues elsewhere people seem to go for Spain as a 'safe' alternative. Lets hope Jet2 and others have enough in the bank to see them through this uncertain period.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
