Ryanair Alicante flight diverted to Manchester.

Breaking action, wind or both?
It's very windy here now. And very wet too. Not an ideal combination.

Update: Wind currently is 10 degrees, 23 gusting 35 knots. When it rains it really comes down so the runway will be very wet. That said, the Buzz from Gdansk just landed on 32.

Interesting the LBA arrivals board shows the inbound FR2660 from Alicante as "Cancelled" not Diverted. Meanwhile the outbound FR2661 is now showing "Gate 4 Closed" on the departure boards.

The is flight Plan filed for Boeing 737-800, 9H-QDX to position back from Manchester into Leeds as "RYR80"

EDIT: It looks like Leeds based Boeing 737-800, 9H-QDD which has just arrived inbound from Riga is now operating the outbound FR2661 to Alicante

Not really a Leeds diversion but a slight thread drift, for which I apologise!

Gulf Air GF005, BAH/MAN, showed on FR 24 as diverted to QKM on Saturday 27th September. I had to look that one up - it’s Leeds East (Sherburn), so there is my link to this thread. I think there might have been a slight mistake.

Leeds East isn't Sherburn. It's what was RAF Church Fenton . Sherburn is few miles down the road. Leeds East has a runway capable of handling most executive aircraft.

Yesterdays afternoon departure to Teneriefe departed several hours late and didnt return-presumably will do so later today.

Im thinking there was an aircraft shortage as a couple of aircraft had positioned out to BRS earlier in the day.
Yes, one of which is positioning back from BRS this morning. The return LS222 is showing as 'unknown' on the arrivals on FR24 so presumably the crew were out of hours, or the aircraft went tech, otherwise it would have been due around 0615.

G-DRTY is due in approx 1550 from Manchester. I wonder if that's going down to TFS?
It's currently doing Rome back to Manchester
Yesterday's LS221 was operated by
G-GDFW, which according to FR24, was late because it had done an engineering flight (LBA to LBA) yesterday afternoon. The fact the return LS222 was cancelled and FW hasn't flown anywhere since arriving at TFS last night suggests that it's tech again.

It’s not cancelled it’s now due 20:20.

It was cancelled last night due to crew hours and the original aircraft G-JZBJ going tech so had to wait for FW to complete a test flight to do the outbound being the only spare aircraft available.
I would have thought outside of 'peak' there would have been spares available.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
