They've recently amended the departure time. Earlier it was showing delayed by 1hr 40 minutes.. They may have filed a new flight plan snd amended the times? The two aircraft were due into LBA within 5 minutes of each other. They're now an well over an hour apart.

would image that was not Easterns fault, maybe road traffic between Plymouth and Exeter, or the Leeds players enjoying themselves too much and arriving late at the airport!! :ROFLMAO:

It wasn't the players aircraft. The players arrived at Exeter and departed on time, and arrived at LBA on time. You would imagine the family and friends didn't hang around in Plymouth with a plane to catch and would have left the ground at the same time. I guess we will never know.

I witnessed the official coaches for both flights departing from Plymouth Home Park together, therefore any problem seems to have been up at Exeter. MOT!

There was a fuel emergency diversion last night with a small aircraft G-CLZO. Was parked on the terminal side on stand 5. Departed 16:30 to Full Sutton Airfield

It was apparently heading up to Scotland (Told he got lost and was low on fuel but not sure how accurate that is)
Why anyone would plan a long distance flight at night (especially that late) in a light single I have no idea. According to FR24 (if it can be believed) it set off from Bagby early afternoon.

I think the en-route FR24 traces are fairly reliable even if the origin and destinations for GA are sometimes not. The trace has it flying up to the the northern tip of Scotland at varying altitudes, doing a 180 and flying back more or less the same route. Very weird! I know Bagby has lights which I guess are triggered by radio transmission but not sure about Full Sutton although I have noted a certain C310 going in there after dark. No wonder it was a fuel emergency with an elapsed time (according to FR) of 8:18 with the manufacturers maximum endurance quoted as 8:30! Be interesting to hear if anyone was listening in!

Did it look like it tried to get into Bagby or Full Sutton on the FR24 track?

Yes it circled Full Sutton fairly low level but not Bagby. As mentioned I am not aware of the lighting status at Full Sutton but clearly if they have them they did not activate hence the 'diversion' eventually to LBA. The whole thing seems very strange indeed at that time of night!

I'm presuming the aircraft registration, quoted earlier in this thread, is correct. Definitely is a microlight. Please refer to the CAA aircraft register.
Yes it's correct. The Evektor Sports Star - whilst you are correct is classed as a microlite (600kg max weight) is actually approved for night operations if suitably equipped - which one assumes this one was. However - one suspects that there may be 'trouble at t'mill' over this incident and the disruption it caused to incoming commercials.

Thanks for the info GolfFox, I didn't know some microlights could be approved for night flying. Just to add to the muddle I looked up Full Sutton and Bagby. Neither are licensed, Full Sutton says no lights and op. hours are 0800 until 1700 (though their website is ancient). Bagby says closes at 2200 Mon to Fri and 2100 weekends. Definitely something strange with this flight but I guess we'll never know!

Didn't someone say it was airborne for several hours?

I would be surprised if there wasn't a requirement for a 'pilot report' to be submitted to the CAA - so we might get to know eventually.

According to the FR24 trace it was in the air for 8hrs 18mins. from departure Bagby to landing at LBA. It did a leg from Full Sutton to Bagby of 39 mins. before that. Maximum endurance according to the manufacturers data is 8hrs 30 mins! Intriguing!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
