Diverted to humbersideLooks like KLM giving its passengers so fun and games
Looks to have gone round Twice
Gusting well over 40 knots.Krakow to LBA just gone round
The first was a very early go around, I believe because the Aer Lingus ATR was still waiting to depart at the end of 32. It actually taxied back in, so either tech or the wind gusts had gone above limits.Looks like KLM giving its passengers so fun and games

The jets will be Cat 3. The ATRs only Cat 2 so require an RVR of 300m or 350m. That’s why they’ll have divertedSee we lost our two EI's this morning to LPL. I appreciate the ATRs are the most suitable for the routes but frustrating when the jets were all landing
Wizz have used MAN as a diversionary airport several times recently. The A321 is scheduled to return to Leeds at 1030, weather permitting. Currently 400m in drizzle with wind 12 knots straight down 14. So probably too much of a tail wind and a wet runway too, preventing a 32 cat 3 landing- although it might be empty and light if the pax were dumped in MAN. Maybe that makes the unlikely possible?Wizz Air A321 from Bucharest is diverting to MAN which is interesting don't they normally go to LPL?
KLM now approaching LBA….lets see what happens to him/her.
And KLM did get in….

The Wizz A321 from Bucharest did position back to Leeds, but not 1030 as scheduled. It actually arrived at 1330 and remains on the ground now at 1430. Not weather related as the visibility was fine when I was up there at 1100 sat in Costa Coffee alongside the runway.Wizz have used MAN as a diversionary airport several times recently. I was in there too at that time. What a coincidence! The Wizz A321 from Bucharest did position back to Leeds, but not 1030 as scheduled. It was on its auto break.@White Heather what was the runway doing in Costa Coffee!![]()
Perhaps yesterday's flights might have been cancelled due to weather in Ireland rather than here, particularly if other flights were affected too? LBA weather shouldn't have been a real issue. Everything landed.Noticed additional EI activity this morning - delivering passengers from yesterdays cancelled afternoon and evening flights? All Birmingham schedules were also cancelled yesterday afternoon/evening. I assume these flights were cancelled because of the 'wind' element of the TAF but the 'actuals' had been fairly consistent with an 8kt (or less) crosswind most of the day and visibility eminently flyable. Similar conditions (or worse in terms of visibility this morning) but all landing normally. I have noticed that the TAFs have often been inaccurate of late to say the least in terms of 'events' and the timing of same - is it just me?? Wonder what our 'resident' pilots might have to say??
No everything else flew from DUB and BHD - except Birmingham where the wind was far worse - and of course a similarly orientated runway to LBA. TAF was calling for a prob. of 15/25kt at LBA but was fairly consistent at 8 Kt most of the day. I guess we will never know!Perhaps yesterday's flights might have been cancelled due to weather in Ireland rather than here, particularly if other flights were affected too? 4 fence panels refitted, 1 bird feeder up righted and a small dry stone wall rebuilt. It was quite gusty yesterday evening.
