I actually saw a fly tipper deposit 2 bin bags near Golden Acre...I reported it to the relevant council department with the reg number plate and was told there was nothing the council could do if they hadn't seen it themselves ...relevant if if it went to court. Complete waste of time ...LCC strikes again

I think Wizz air help Doncaster. I say let’s look in a couple weeks and compare. Though that may not be a good thing to do. If you added Turkey and Canaries into the mix of arrivals today we’d be 14/15 today.

You mean progressing AKA wizzair.. be very interesting to see the loads on these flights.. TFS £8.99 one way.. can see that being empty. (Obviously now the canaries have a travel corridor things will pick up), but with the likes of AGP on a A321, i doubt the PAX figures will be over 20..

Given how quiet the airport is this Winter, maybe they should shut down Check-in Hall B and convert into a Covid testing centre instead. That would be far more useful, plus they could test all inbound arrival passengers while they are at it.

Trust me Bigman, that wouldn't be a very positive thing to do. Not with Jet2 having a brand new baggage hall. The A hall isn't big enough to share (again) it was a disaster last time and the A hall belt couldn't handle it.

The B hall is new and improved. It would of been a good idea the other way around however and Swissport using J2's baggage hall over winter.

Just read today that the US's Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) have signed off the Boeing 737 MAX as being airworthy so it appears its now on its come-back, although the circumstances mean that is going to take quite some time. Ryanair are reported to still be wanting more MAX aircraft and of course one of the originals was supposed to be based at LBA. I wonder if that might still happen next summer? I guess we will all have to learn to trust this aircraft as we do the rest of the 737 range as its all we've got going forward as far as new 737s are concerned. Lets all hope they have got it right this time.

Not that I have seen. Just lots of computer work to stop the problem that caused their nose to pull up repeatedly until it stalled. No doubt more detail will become available in time.

It’s reported that up to 150 hours work needed per aircraft to get those in storage flying again plus enhanced training for the pilots. On the plus side there’s probably never been an aircraft scrutinised so minutely than the Max which should bode well for its future safety.

More specifically this is the FAA directive of the work required for the Max return to service:

AD 2020-24-02 requires installing new flight control computer (FCC) software, revising the existing Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) to incorporate new and revised flightcrew procedures, installing new MAX display system (MDS) software, changing the horizontal stabilizer trim wire routing installations, completing an AOA sensor system test, and performing an operational readiness flight.

A number of things worry me about the 737 max8, firstly its a 1960s design, the 737 100/200 and 300series look great because everythings in proportion, length of fuselage, wingspan, tail etc, also because the 737 was a short aircraft in length the height of the fuselage off the ground was ideal and the old torpedo engines suited it so well and it looked great. But now we have the 800 and max8 series, the length of the aircraft now creates problems with its fast landing speed, fuselage too low to the ground and boeing have now stuck these big max8 engines onto it to create more stability issues as we known, so we end up with fast landing speeds and stability issues, I really hope all these software upgrades have resolved these problems but at the same time don't create more issues due to the sheer amount of new tech onboard the aircraft!
