I dont profess to know, but I would have thought it could be quite hard to intercept at 7 miles and establish a stable approach. Quite a high cockpit workload.
Not at all. Perfectly easy to do. Happens every day around the UK.
If you want high workload try a Ryanair style low drag approach - no gear or flaps 15 until 4nm
