Just read on BBC website that some of the protesters who climbed gantries over the M25 have been jailed. Main man got 5 years. That's a serious sentence and will hopefully act as a deterrent. Thankfully the group that shall not be mentioned don't seem to want to use similar tactics.
Why has my post been edited, and by who? This is not what I wrote.

'Unlike airports such as Heathrow, passengers use the runway to board a flight, adding to the risk a protest could occur near a plane'

I assume they mean apron, rather than runway. That being said are they suggesting that Protectors would purchase tickets and pose as legitimate travellers to gain access to the apron?
I seem to recall that a protester who had purchased a ticket glued himself to the roof of an aircraft at London City and subsequently he was convicted and jailed.

Just come across this.
The YEP digging up its usual rubbish again, have they got nothing else to report on! The fact its summer with a rammed terminal full of passengers many younger drinking and eating, course its going to be messy in places!
The yep should be reporting on the current terminal improvements which are there to try resolve many of the reported issues, pathetic!

If they're going to criticise the rubbish left lying around, perhaps they should criticise the people who just leave it there rather than finding a bin to put it in. I'm sure there are staff clearing up but with thousands of people sat around constantly generating rubbish, it's an impossible task to keep in top of it. Cleaning effectively is also impossible. You can be sweeping up around people's feet . It can only be done properly during quiet periods . It's no different at any other airport from my experience.

Oh the irony! This from the party that objected 100% at MP level to LBAs new terminal because growth to 7m passengers per year was very very bad. Of course that's exactly what's going to happen anyway with the alternative scheme we now have in progress. But it shows our esteemed Mayor is speaking in favour of LBA because it now appears Labour have done a 360 turn on aviation policy.

Today I found myself sharing my supermarket aisle with our anti airport MP. Three times I came face to face with him but resisted the temptation to pin him into a corner and read this article to him. I'm too old for Police cells so let him escape peacefully but next time the outcome might be different,..........!

Dont worry WH you would of been ok, the police cells are only for those posting comments online regarding genuine concerns regarding mass immigration! Once again tho labour madness!

So now is as good a time as ever to re submit plans for a new terminal with a new passenger cap of say 12 million and a review of the night time operating restrictions?

If it’s passed, get the diggers in to build the bare minimum then sit on the proposal until required!

If only eh…!

All the politicians know there's going to be a LOT of backtracking. Regardless of what the green agenda is, it is unaffordable for the country and we will have to pull out of much of what we have signed up to. Fully electric cars is surely one of them?

Can you imagine it, we all wait for ages then 2 new terminals come along at once haha each 7 million pax each!

Nothing to do with the airport, but to do with the Clownsil and its road design idiots, has anyone seen the stupid new junction design near Waitrose in meanwood at the end of green lane, says it all about this joke council

News article on Runway 1432 Club at LBA
Ah yes, the much coveted "<enter name of place> - Live" news feeds. The place where journalism goes to die a slow, painful death. If they were asked to write about a big bag of money, they would probably complain that the bag was the wrong colour, or wasn't to their taste.....

Seriously though that group of news web feeds aren't worth the time it takes to try to load all the ads and pop-ups. I mean the breakfast in question doesn't look the best, but surely a quick word with the staff to get a replacement rather than trying to look like a professional food critic would have been the more productive route? Or failing that just add a healthy dollop of brown sauce on and job's a good'un!

Perhaps they had to pay for it in installments and had in on HP!

I think for the money I would consider stained seats unacceptable.

Bam bum tish!!

That's a fair point, but I see a lot of these 'Live' stories on my social media feeds, and more often than not they are non-stories there just for the clicky-baity stuff. And let's be honest, the description of the breakfast is a tad, well theatrical. I don't know about anyone else, but if I book one of the lounges at LBA it's for the simple reason that it's a bit quieter than out in departures. If the breakfast is only to a 'Spoons standard it's not the end of the world. Maybe the reporter was upset it wasn't an all-you-can-eat offering?

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
