Hi, are you going to the community meeting next week?
I haven’t applied. When is it?
I have doubts as to the importance of puff-piece meetings like that to be honest.
They tend to elicit more heat than light. People are polarised on both sides and nobody changes their minds. I support the airport, but not to the extent that I can’t be critical when I see/hear about things that I don’t agree with.
The wife flew to Dublin this morning and sent this text at 5.52am
“Omg it’s chaotic here in the airport. I’ve never seen it as bad.
We had to book fast track.”
Fortunately she hadn’t booked into the “lounges” so the experience wasn’t completely a disastrous one.
Let’s hope the revamp improves the customer experience when it has been completed.

It's more a question of the ongoing refurbishment works causing problems. Its bound to happen. No pain, no gain.

Decent bit of detective work there @LBAYORKIE
Came back yesterday on LS212 from Jersey 139 on flight, should have been 142 but three failed to turn up. Out to Jersey the previous Tuesday, the 16 September 145 passengers. These were good figure late in the season as I believe the 300 series aircraft have a seating capacity of 148. And despite all the issues Jet2 were having with the 737-300 aircraft both outward and return flights on time.

It would seem that we can finally put to bed any possibility of Play Airlines turning up at LBA in the future as they have today ceased all operations.....
The way they chopped and changed their strategy and headed to Europe instead of the US, LPL service not being consistent, I think any intend/ambition of them coming to LBA went away a long time ago. What a shame, however we do have Jet2's KEF service still.

Our favourite BBC correspondent is reporting today that LBA, working in partnership with the University of Sheffield, and supported by the University of Leeds, and using a Government grant, is to trial the manufacture of sustainable aviation fuel at the airport for use by aircraft using LBA. It doesnt say where this manufacturing will take place - or whether it will be within the airport boundaries, or nearby. Vince Hodder is quoted so it seems kosher. It will be interesting to see where this is going to take place and what the facility looks like.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
