Sorry no. It's on the YEP ***Links to other Social Media platforms are not permitted***- pages which I can't post the link for. It's easy enough to find. Just Google YEP Leeds, scroll to the YEP Leeds ***Links to other Social Media platforms are not permitted***- page and it's in there.
Im not sure I understand. Is it on Facebook?

No. I didn't write that. I told you which social media the YEP has put it on, but this Forum doesn't allow me to mention it, so has changed what I said into what you see. For the same reason I cannot give you a link.
Just go on to the YEP pages on t' internet but it's the one they do that's on a Social Media platform beginning with F!

So, despite the Tories taking a right beating in the local and Mayoral elections, Ben Houchen, Tory Mayor of Teesside, has been re-elected. On the national news, several voters, most of whom said they would NOT vote Tory in the general election, said they supported Houchen because of his support for the area and in particular, several mentioned his support for Teesside Airport.

Perhaps our West Yorkshire Mayor should take note. Perhaps they should realise that two, maybe three Northern Mayor's, who actively support their airports, remain in their jobs. Perhaps our Mayor in West Yorkshire might realise that actively supporting LBA and the jobs it creates will increase their support instead of diminishing it.

Stop sitting on the fence West Yorkshire Mayor, whoever you are, and proclaim your support for LBA!!!

Yes surprisingly ben was re elected with something like a 5000 majority and he actually picked up 53% of the vote! Sounds like an intelligent thinking guy with conmon sense views! Not many of them about!

A few small recent changes and ongoing works that haven't been mentioned on here, if anyone is interested or cares:

- Some sort of small electrical unit and substation-type setup was installed next to the Stand 14 cabin some weeks ago, with cables running underground, presumably for fixed ground power installation later.
- A decent-sized parking area for large GSE (De-icers, airport tractors, etc) is being built at the head of Stand 21C using material removed from runway and taxiway resurfacing. Equipment was previously parked here on the grass.
- A large section of footpath outside the terminal (Landside) is to be resurfaced soon. This will run from the deliveries courtyard to the main doors.

Just looking at who is standing in the elections, and for Leeds Central and Headingley is Alex Sobel but I was pretty sure he was mates with Chris Foren from the group we don’t name but if so he is standing again Sobel, am I correct in think Foren is the head of the group we shall not name? Any way if he is his address is supplied so we can all go make noise outside his house

I think Foren handed the reigns to Tate when he started standing as a Green Party Candidate in the Weetwood Ward, though I've no doubt he's still involved. He's certainly still very much anti airport judging by the leaflets pushed though my door, all of which are instantly deposited in the bin.

Despite living in Cookridge, I find myself in the bit of Cookridge that's been dumped in the Leeds Central and Headingley constituency. I'm not impressed by this as it means that those of us living in the city ( in my case nearly 70 years) will have our voting outcome hugely influenced by the thousands of student votes - students who vote in Leeds, influence the outcome here, then often enough depart back home.

That said, whether I vote Labour (Sobel), Lib Dem (Howley, who failed in the recent Council elections ) or Green (Foren, who also failed miserably in the Council elections) all three candidates are openly anti airport. So I either waste my vote on the others or don't bother. No way will I vote for an anti airport candidate.

Is it by chance that three of the main candidates for this area, which is generally under the 32 flight path, are all effectively green and anti airport? I don't think so. And what did we do to deserve two failed Council candidates and Sobel?? Hardly an inspiring option among them - if there is such a thing as an inspiring politician these days.

I just had one of those political low life morons on my doorstep oh and did I give her what for. She claimed Labour didn't want the airport to grow in such a huge way unsustainably. I said what, but you support the terminal extension which allows the same level of growth? She was an utter dimwit who wouldn't listen to anything I said. She was basically a green dressed as red with an evil splash of reform.

Which party?

It was Elonor Thornton a canvaser for Labour in Guiseley. I think she is a councillor for the area. One of the problems we have is these people from across the political landscape don't listen to people on the street. They only do their own thing.
