What a brilliant watch. An hour well spent. Thanks for posting.

Anyone who calls themselves a supporter of LBA needs to watch this. It will enable you to get to know what our CEO is about, and what he's doing to give us a seriously good airport over time. It will also confirm quite a few things I've reported from Consultative Meetings in case anyone thinks I make half of it up.

I came away from watching even more convinced that LBA is at last in good hands. The future is bright. Maybe the future is orange too!
Interesting also he mentions a couple of Airlines JetBlue and Saudia
Maybe talks have taken place

Impossible with Ryanair’s tight turn arounds. A canary island is what 9 hours at best so can’t depart at 930 as runways shut, can’t depart earlier as runway for arrival is… shut.

As for Dublin why take the risk? All it takes is a delay here and there suddenly Ryanair have an aircraft out of base, crew out of hours, cancelled flight or diverted eating into any profit a Dublin would bring.

Ryanair are been risk averse. Well done to them.
What risk? a DUB 6AM a quick spin will make it back before the closure. They take the risk with LBA for the night closures nearly every day. Same theory :)

I'm simply highlighting a point of the lack of flights during winter Tue/Wed and I know before you mention it again the runway is closed. Other airlines still operate.

Flew on a Jet2 A321neo the other week back to Manchester from Las Palmas, having flown out on a 737 from LBA. On first impressions, and my non aviation enthusiast partner even remarked, the cabin feels spacious - wider aisle and less curvature.

However seat pitch is noticeably less than the 737 fleet. I think the rows in front of the overwing exits fare slightly better, but those in the rear are pretty dire.

Often found this to be the case in high density A320/321s, much worse legroom down the back.

The seat back pocket looks poor, with the literature not fitting in to it properly and over spilling out the side of the seat

WCs are also a squeeze. Thankful Jet2 haven’t opened for the SpaceFlex galley..

But yes am in no rush to see the A321neo in LBA from a comfort perspective.

By all accounts the is an announcement on May 20th. My guess is that it will be the opening of the terminal extension.
Wouldn't it be nice if, at the same time, they announced something else too? Like an Easyjet base from 2026. Or a Loganair based aircraft? Or they who shall not be named being declared an illegal pestulence that in future will be totally disregarded.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
