Really? Well it was their land years ago when traffic wardens used to issue tickets for parking up there as the double yellows were still visible.
Absolute muppets country is ※※※※※※
The trees that obscure the view are on the opposite side of the road. The bushes that are just the other side of the fence at the cemetery ARE trimmed by the council.

Well, as I have pointed out before, that bit of the old road, where the viewing takes place is a public highway. and was left like that on purpose as for some reason, as related to me by one of the highway engineers of the former Aireborough Council when the new diversion was built. Therefore the trees on the slope are within the curtilage of the public highway. LCC don't understand the technical things like that. If some 'vandal' cut down the vegetation bit by bit and cleared up afterwards- whose to know?
Im talking about the trees on the opposite side of the road not the bushes at the cemetery. Its those that block most of the view.

Who pays the council??
Council say its not their land. Highways say it is though so I havent given up.

I have a contact at the council who you could email?

If anyone wants his email just send me a private message and you can have it

I thought I'd seen it being used. I think @White Heather reported a while ago that the airport had said it was going to fix it as part of the terminal works.
If you have seen it being used I’d think you will have seen the one on stand 7 being used but stand 8 has not worked in a few years. They’ve tried to fix it before with no luck and I’ve heard mention over the last few years that they were going to demolish it and provide more ground equipment space for swissport but this could have changed since then.

They did say they would fix it but I think they said it would be replaced instead as part of phase 2. Not certain though and it's not been mentioned recently. Now we are into phase 2 (running alongside the completion of phase 1), it might get a mention at this month's meeting. If I can remember, and get a chance, I'll ask.

Understanding the cost implications, it would still seem advantageous to have at least a couple as it could make it easier to attract future airlines.

Flew out yesterday on FR2503…plane was full.
The Ryanair check in line went as far back as the currency exchange kiosk…crazy. This self check in is bonkers especially if there 2 or 3 FR departures close together as it takes people who are not used to it ages to do it. We had a family of 5 in front of us with 5 check incases…what a perlava that was.
Fast Track was empty thankfully, otherwise fairly straight forward.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
