I don't want to fuel speculation but does anyone know who is the new aviation kerosene company, or even that it has now been sourced?

I know do it’s Turners Distribution who currently supply the fuel to LBA. I remember seeing a couple of there Tankers in the fuel farm when we landed on Sunday mornings inbound SunExpress from Antalya .

No doubt the supporters of the airport in South Yorkshire will be on this shortly telling everyone they have thousands and thousands of litres of fuel and our flights should divert there so they can refuel and be on their way again with passengers back to the med.

For info, DSA sits very close to one of the major Jet A1 pipelines and has a loading depot in the vicinity. So theoretically it is better placed for Jet A1 deliveries than LBA, but of course is immaterial if non-operational.

One thing to consider is that as the airport grows, so should the amount of fuel it can store. If the supplies only last a small period of time, then an expansion to the fuel farm should be looked at.
BRS is currently building another large fuel tank at the fuel farm for this reason. LBA I’m sure will be looking at how much fuel it can store, and how quickly those supplies last. As the airport gets busier, those supplies won’t last as long without more regular deliveries.

Fairly sure they did expand the fuel storage at LBA in the not too distant past.

Shouldn’t make much difference to DSA - according the the Council DSA is going to be a centre for SAF aviation 🤣

Unfortunately we're going to see this a lot more during the refurbishment process. I don't believe it is possible to deactivate the fire alarm system during this process so any bit of dust will cause more unwanted and unnecessary evacuations.

You really can’t just blame the ongoing construction work, the fact the is no planned replacement for the Smoking area will mean you get idols liting up there fags and trying to get away with it.

I for one am pleased it’s not coming back and I hope the airport comes down hard on those that try to break the rules/laws

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
