Summary of RYR Routes - Winter 2018 (snapshot of a week in Nov 18)

I've compared a week in November 2018 to the same week in 2017 of Ryanair's BRS schedule.
From a brief look at the schedule in November 2018, there seems to be 1 extra based aircraft than in Winter 2017, 4x "new routes" and an extra 12x weekly departures!

That looks very impressive indeed. I'm always surprised at the low frequency to las palmas and I wonder why they never have flown to fuerteventura .

Yes, easyJet and Ryanair almost seem to have reached an accommodation with Las Palmas. easyJet operates 2 x weekly in winter but not at all in summer. Ryanair operates 1 x weekly in winter and 2 x weekly in summer (was 3 x weekly in July and August in 2016 and 2017 but it's 2 x weekly every month this summer at the moment).

Fuerteventura is the only main Canary island that easyJet and Ryanair don't go head to head on - easyJet seems to operate it at 2 x weekly throughout the year.

TUI and Thomas Cook operate both routes as well, so perhaps LPA and FUE are considered sufficiently catered for.

New Shannon Service Strengthens Links Between South West UK & Ireland

The launch of a new service to Shannon this summer will take the number of flights between Bristol Airport and Ireland to an all-time high.

Ryanair’s twice-weekly service to Ireland’s third busiest airport takes the total number of flights per week to more than 100, including routes to Dublin, Cork and Knock.

Dublin remains the most popular destination served from Bristol Airport, with more than 418,000 passengers using the route in the last 12 months. Up to seven departures a day are operated by Ryanair and Aer Lingus, providing flexible flight options for business and leisure passengers. Aer Lingus also serves Cork daily, while Ryanair operates three flights a week to Knock, in the west of Ireland.

Air links between Bristol and Ireland date back to 1936 when Aer Lingus operated its very first international route from Dublin to the city’s airport, then located in Whitchurch. As well as being well used by businesses with interests in the UK and Ireland, flights also support significant two-way tourism traffic. According to the International Passenger Survey, Ireland is Bristol’s fifth biggest market for overseas visitors. Irish visitors to the South West of the UK spent a total of £29.86 million in the first three quarters of 2017, with the number of visits to the region up more than eight per cent over the previous corresponding period.

Nigel Scott, Business Development Director at Bristol Airport, said:
“Frequent flights between Bristol and Ireland help foster strong links for business and tourism, which is why Ryanair’s new Shannon service is such great news. Winter 2018/2019

The four new winter routes - Seville, Knock, Valencia and Limoges are now bookable in the Ryanair web booking engine although the last two are only currently bookable until 17 December. They are both shown on the Ryanair web calendar as operating throughout the winter.

I can't understand why, if they are bookable until mid-December, they are not bookable for the entire winter. It can't be difficult to include the entire season from the word go, can it? They've done it for the other new routes and for the additional capacity on others - eg Venice MP.

looks like Shannon dropped from October 18.
Also looks like knock is to be year round service.

Shannon is intended as a summer route . Knock is being reintroduced as a year round service this year

I smoke but that's bad when you cant go with out one for a couple of hours. My ex wife got a smoking warning in Orlando airport and threatened with a 30.000$ fine.They deserve all they get for doing it.

According to Mayfly Ryanair have an extra inbound (FR913 arriving 0915) on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week in connection with the Cheltenham Festival. I can't see a return working on Mayfly.

Until a few years ago Ryanair operated several additional flights into BRS each day for the racing at Cheltenham but in recent years they seem to have concentrated on BHX which again has the lion's share this year. Can't be a lack of hotel space in Bristol surely? A new one seems to open nearly every month with more in the pipeline.

Not so many years Ryanair have opened a base in bhx,also they winter a few air frames which they rotate. Weather this has any bearing why they operated the horse race flights into bhx.

It happened to me with Ryan Air that I cannot get my hand luggage on board because it's 2cm bigger than the standard. They had a box to put my suitcase in and see if it fits, it didn't fit so I had to pay for the check-in luggage. I didn't know they're so strict in this matter, I have to be more careful next time.
