Not sure how reliable this info is but I’ve seen a post somewhere suggesting that TUI are planning to launch 2 new routes from LBA next year
1x based aircraft, Boeing 737-MAX8 to operate routes to Cape Verde, Tunisia or Egypt?

Along with 4x weekly Palma, 2x weekly Antalya, 2x weekly Dalaman, 1x weekly Corfu & 1x weekly Dubrovnik

They have done x1 before, it really limits your program / duration of holidays. I hope if they do, they keep frequencies high like PMI x4 weekly. Something different that isn't offered wouldn't go a miss instead of the usual.

Where did you see this if you don't mind me asking?
It was a post on one of TUI groups on Facebook from someone who has it on "good Authority" that TUI will be flying 2 new routes from LBA next year.

It was posted anonymously possibly because they work for TUI so have heard something. A base was ruled out though. For now it seems to be a rumour but we shall see if anything comes of it..

Yeah seen it myself now, by all accounts TUI have renewed & extended there contract with LBA until to 2028 with 2x new routes coming next year. Great news indeed.

I'm blowing the Leeds trumpet but arguably Leeds is too big to ignore now. Folk can argue all they like about this hilltop airport with a runway not pointing into the prevailing wind, but one thing is certain which is it pulls in the punters. It's Leeds' catchment area and bums on seats that make money, not long runways facing a particular direction. Sooner or later Tui will have to follow the market forces if it is to regain its Yorkshire market share.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
