Just to clarify, for a non techy like me, do the number of night movements you say LBA are expecting include the newer, quieter aircraft expected to be switched in , particularly for Jet2, or some existing types or is that too early to know for sure.
It's unlikely at present that LBA will have any based aircraft in the next two years that are noise exempt. Initial Jet2 A321NEOs are likely to go to MAN, BHX and STN so I would guess 2025 before LBA get any of them.

No sign of Ryanair swapping their 738s for MAXs either, so as things stand all night movements will count towards the quota except delayed flights up to 0100 and turboprops.

However, the challenge by they who shall not be named against the night quota could result in things changing.

Thank you. I agree that seems to give them an opportunity to moan further.

Looking at the LBA winter 2022/23 ACL slot report it would seem TUI are booked into operate a Lapland charter flight to Enontekio in mid December..

Could this be a flight moved from Donny? Up until now I've not seen this one advertised by TUI for Leeds.
Operating this Friday (16th December) to Enontekio 10:00 departure.

Thanks for your efforts. I must admit though I am disappointed that there hasn't been an increase or new destinations, after all DSA seemed to support several based aircraft. Given Tui's past record with LBA I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Thats TUI @ LBA for you! I guess we should be happy they are keeping there small token presence plus with the Dalman going onto there own metal should help.

It baffles me how they cannot see the market they are missing and more so the very opportunity DSA’s closure created to finally gain a workable presence back at LBA.

In typical TUI neanderthalic behaviour they’ve retreated to EMA and continue this belief that MAN will do for the Leeds city region. Ironically they’ve possibly spurned their very last opportunity to gain a foothold at LBA and the Yorkshire market in the very same year they will loose the number one tour operator spot to a Leeds based company built primarily upon the lacklustre charter/IT market TUI amongst others made available here in the early to mid 2000’s.

LBA should be at least 2-3 based 737-800’s yet we get the scraps.

Little chance of any more based aircraft until the terminal is extended and even then, that night movement limit is a real problem for any more based aircraft, especially the likes of TUi who would need early departures/late arrivals . They are already reaching the summer limit of 2800 movements.

Surely that would depend on if TUI was to base one of those super quiet Boeing 737-Max8's at LBA?

Considering TUI are a massive world wide corporation i'd say that they might know what they are doing. Leeds has a very large base from a rival, terminal constraints and they know like some other airlines do that people from Yorkshire will travel to other airports especially Manchester. For many people in South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire EMA is just as close as LBA, for West Yorkshire Manchester is quite close and for North Yorkshire Newcastle is a good option. TUI did obviously valued the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire market enough to base in DSA but for them LBA may well be a different prospect. Eventually i'm sure LBA will see a TUI base.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
