Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

As with my other lists this one is produced with the caveat that my clapped out brain cells might have overlooked one or two.

Boeing 737-200
Boeing 737-300
Boeing 737-400
Boeing 737-700
Boeing 737-800
Boeing 757-200
Boeing 747-200
Boeing 747-300
Boeing 747-400
Boeing 777-300
Airbus A 310
Airbus A 319
Airbus A 320
Airbus A 321
Airbus A 380
DC 3 ('Dakota')
MD 11
MD 83
Saab 340
Embraer 120 ('Brasilia')
Fokker F 28 ('Fellowship')
Fokker F 50
Fokker F 70
Fokker F 100
Bae 146
ARJ 85
ATR 72
ATR 42
CRJ 200
Dash Q400

Inevitably the various Boeing 737 series have been my most frequent carriage though in recent years with easyJet often the favoured airline I have travelled more on the Airbus 319.

Incidentally, I once flew in a Schleicher KA-13 glider – as a passenger I should quickly add though the pilot did let me have a go at flying the thing under strict supervision.

With no engine to keep up the airspeed the steep landing angle was quite something, especially as I was sitting at the front with the driver behind.

I also flew as a passenger in a Tiger Moth on a pleasure flight.

A harder topic than remembering the airports but I'll try mine....

DanAir BAC 1-11 LGW-Beauvais (France) and back
BA 777 (not sure WHAT type of 777 sorry) LHR-Chicago O'Hare and back
BA DC10 LGW-JFK and back
Virgin 747-400 (Boston Belle and others whose names I can't remember) LHR-LAX and back, LHR-San Francisco and back, Vegas-LGW(Barbarella)
Virgin a340-600 (Soul Sister) LHR-LAX
Air India 747-400 (LHR-JFK and back - God they ply you with drink that airline!)
Ryanair 737-800 LBA-Dublin and back
BMI Embraer ERJ145 LBA-LHR
BMI Airbus (319 I think whichever flew LHR-LBA - also an ERJ145 was used once)
US Airways Airbus (either 318, 19 or 20 defo wasn't a 21!) LAX-Vegas McCarran
And 2 helicopters for sightseeing trips over New York and the Grand Canyon
F117 Stealth Fighter can't tell you where to as it's top secret

I will have a go, think it was something like this:

It makes me feel old to actually remember these aircraft as common place. I never flew on any of them, what was it like?

To be quite fair most of the flights you have mentioned there are ones that were taken while on holiday with my parents (apart from the Busy Bee flight which was a substitute aircraft operating on behalf of BD down to LHR from Birmingham). I think having flights on these aircraft really started my interest in aviation. I cannot remember much about them (due to my young age at the time). I do remember the Busy Bee flight very well. I was going down to LHR to assist our Head Office due to them being short staffed. I was one of the last to board and when the Cabin Crew tried to shut the door at the rear of the Aircraft they forgot to remove the bumper on the door sill. This had the effect of bouncing the door (with it nearly coming away from the hinges). It took them about 5 minutes for the problem to be sorted out, with most of the passengers I could see showing very white faces!

I also forget to mention many flights on BAC 1-11's (mainly BA).

Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

First flight was a BA VC10 out of Heathrow in 1976 and my last, a Ryanair 737 in 2011. In between almost every jet type going apart from the Russian builds.

Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

I always used to cringe watching the Tupolov-Tu154 landing and departing from LBA when I was a child. I'm sure they were a fine aircraft to fly on really. Has anybody on the forum actually flown on one?

My plans got altered slightly as one of the minibus companies had to cancel 3 trips and refunded me but will be getting nice discount when I rebook them.
wondering why on my "holidays" I choose to get up 2 hours earlier than when going to work. 6 trips in 6 days soon coming up with 3 more days to sort out
