▶️ Video Review: Birmingham Airport Videos

Today I woke up with a hunger to see some planes, it has been such a long time I was literally starving plane action, lol. I got my stuff together and headed over to BHX for the "mini" early afternoon rush 🙂

Sorry about the wind on top of the car park hill, it does get rather blowy and it is even more open now as there are literally no cars :wideyed:

Interesting that this video shows work being done around and to the SSW the 33 ILS/glideslope antennae, parallel to R33. This seems to tie in with Matt995's excellent news in the NOTAMS thread -

33 ILS now fully Cat 3b again, as from Saturday. 👍

I thank Kevin for an excellent snapshot of activity at BHX and for his endurance of the conditions. I always enjoy the little films now I am not mobile, I just miss the Kerosine scent!

Credit goes to Brum X for the video, not me. I just quoted it to highlight the work on the ILS.

Poignant. To all those BHX supporters; maintain your positivity and enthusiasm as encouraging days are ahead. Here in Australia the traditional Industry is on life support yet new airlines are emerging (and growing) with the ambition and credentials to forge a new era of aviation. The adage “when one door closes another one opens” has never been truer.

What a funny looking plane with those engines stuck on the roof. You can tell it's Russian, lol

Great video! Nice to watch some aviation again.
Unbelievable how empty the long stay car park is. There also appear to be some shed like structures at the far end. I've never noticed them before. Anyone know what they are?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
