Have press releases been issued? Is the support group recognised by the media? Just wondering what it takes to receive the same recognition as GALBA for example,.
Here is the item from the YEP referring to the Support Group.

Just out of interest, does anybody "like" any anti LBA pages on facebook? would be interesting to see their response to the recommended approval

Good old Look North. New bulletin this morning putting the usual negative environmental slant on the forthcoming decision. At least they did also put the airport's take on the cutting of emissions, but this was almost a bit of an afterthought.

Let's see the NIMBY's and GALBA try and put a negative environmental spin on this then. I'm sure it will come!!

There's a BBC article about the GALBA open letter online. Do we need an open letter which surely for balance BBC would need to give equal attention?

..and it also says that is it being called in for government approval in any case, so we may as well forget it.

Why do you say that? Government will surely approve. There is no reason not for it to be approved. Not like the airport are going to the DFT for a central funding pot. All privately funded.

Government approval + Leeds = not a cat in hells chance as has been proved so many times over the years with all sorts of transport related projects. Hence my cynicism.

The Government Approval applies only if the Council approve the plans and relates to the visibility of the terminal from green belt land because it exceeds 1000m2. It's standard procedure for anything on or impacting green belt, but there are provisions within the rules to enable quick approval if there are significant benefits.

Heads up guys and gals. Headline report coming up on Look North at 18:30.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
