Of course no mention of rerouting for those who have now had their bookings cancelled. They are obliged to offer a reroute even when on other airlines, a refund should not be the only option.

And also no mention of potentially compensation they may be due if informed of the cancellation within 14 days of the flight.

Has anyone else seen the message on IPS Airways website that services due to start have now been postponed till October! That explains things
It wasn't there this morning so this has just popped up today.

Not really a surprise is it? Hard to operate a route with apparently zero aircraft to do it with.

At least the airports got a parking bay marked up now for the A330 and some steps, and a baggage loader. Now we just need an A330!

Wouldnt surprise me if they havent thought of all this. Maybe the postponement is due to them not satisfying the minimum criteria set by the CAA (I presume there has to be a bond or something)

Or it could just have been an elaborate con, with promises of refunds but none being forthcoming.

Their website has 27 pages of terms and conditions for booking including what happens of the flights are cancelled, so they presumably expect people to read up on there rather than explain it all in this announcement..

Yes, but surely there are UK laws in place that cover customer rights that take precedence.

Yes, the UK equivalent of EC261 applies here for a flight departing the UK regardless of whether the airline is a UK one or not. Their terms & conditions cannot override the customers statutory rights and entitlements.

I very much doubt the problem is the lack of a suitable aircraft. There are plenty on the market (including EC-JZL/OE-IOU which was advertised as being available last week). There is a more fundamental issue. The fact that neither LBA nor EMA put their name to this operation says everything.

There was a lot of chat re Jordan Aviation at one point, post 2343 by Ian Farquharson pointed out they were fully committed to the end of October.

The announcement says services to start beginning of November?

Would anyone on here book with them I know I wouldn't it just doesn't look right as it stands.

The announcement says October. However, by later in the year Jordan Aviation might be looking for work if PIA get their approval to fly here again. And my understanding is that Jordan Aviation is the airline that approached Swissport at LBA. It may be that they were the proposed carrier but have not been able to proceed for whatever reason. I guess we will never know the truth behind it all. No point in me asking LBA. I have written twice already and they are saying nowt!!

I know their website said October and Sean M who is very reliable states commencing 3/11 either way I hope something comes out of it but so far they do not exactly fill anyone full of confidence from what I've read on here.

It's unfortunate that they, and to a degree, the airports they were supposed to serve in the UK or Pakistan, have made no announcements or given any updates until IPS today confirmed what most of us suspected, but too late.

The lack of information promotes suspicion and leads to people speculating as we have seen. Communication solves so many problems yet so many companies seem incapable of doing it effectively.

IPS need to not only pay their customers the full refund and any compensation due, but re-book them on other carriers if they request it, and issue an apology. They then need to give regular updates on progress towards the launch and, crucially, ensure that joint announcements are made with all four airports which needs to also include details of the carrier. Maybe then, people and travel agencies might forgive and forget. After all, the options for travel between the UK and Pakistan are limited, and PIA may find when they eventually return, that their misdemeanours are not forgotten and that people opt for an alternative carrier. Let's hope there is one, operating from LBA!

Unless the rumoured jordan/swissport and 14a stand for A330 was for the flights which moved from Manchester to Doncaster until September? Maybe they were preparing for this flight or it moves from donny due to the uncertainty of closure in October?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
