I am sure MAN is highly delighted that they have gained an operator that hasn't got off to the best of starts. Been plenty of those at MAN over the years. Having said that, the only thing that makes we wonder if there was some kind of deal brokered in that as they are still touting East Midlands as a departure point so maybe they have reduced some charges in an attempt to keep passenger numbers up on the Islamabad route with the forthcoming route suspension from Virgin

They don't have a licence, they have 2 months for new forward bookings on a badly damaged reputation. I do hope LBA told them to eff off..! Look at Hans Airways BHX, they have done the proving flights, got an AC and that's taken months and months, flights are still NOT on sale. I hope LBA have another operator in the pipeline and did tell them where to go.. Also mentioned before I'm sure Swissport can easy get equipment from DSA if needed..

I’m hoping Wizz is going to add longer term value! I am a bit disappointed to see the LBA website not shouting this from the rooftops and having the routes listed! We’re still not very good at this and not really helping ourselves! Oh how I miss Tony and his route updates!

I agree with the Wizz advertising situation but maybe at the moment whist things are a bit still close the DSA closure situation, maybe when flights get started in November this might be the best time to shout from the rooftops - just my view

Agree with that. It's still rather raw in some places what's happening. LBA announced it but are being somewhat respectful by not advertising it widely yet. Neither are Wizz yet.

Its very easy to get an employee of LBA to manage the social media channels, all you have to do is take less then 30 seconds of your time to send a posted update..
They have however finally updated the airline list so it states all airlines that fly out of LBA. No longer including old airlines or not showing correct logos, etc. But I do agree that the website homepage should be promoting Wizz and Tui’s new routes - rather than promotions that the airport is hiring or Aer Lingus offering connections to the USA.

Virgin seem to be all over the place at the moment. A real shame as I really like them as an airline. Obviously with the current economic climate I can’t see a lot of leisure long haul travellers, whereas business travellers will continue as normally (depending on the climate of the company too).

When I spoke to the manager at IPS she said that one or more of the airlines operating to Pakistan from Manchester would be stopping operations imminently, so maybe that influenced their decision to drop LBA.
I just don't think your going to get the truth out of them and to be honest we'll probably never know what really happened.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
