Looking at other forums.. easyJet looks hotly tipped to be announcing a NCL base within its Interim results. all Abit cryptic, would be great if we got one also. Wouldn't be surprised about the return to NCL. Even though FR have muscled their way in and Jet2 have expanded.

I think we will get a U2 base but suspect it might not be until the years four digits add up to 11
If that's the case it would be very very ironic if DSA (if it ever opens) gets an easyJet base.. I personally can not see it. My bet is more W flying from them into LBA until a base launch. ALC/AMS/FAO perhaps.

Have a read of this and you’ll see where the London route rumours are coming from and possible extra flights to Antalya & elsewhere in Turkey.

Very interesting read and one re London stating Loganair/Emerald to operate. Personally I would prefer and think BA A319 minimum is more desirable due to heavy transfer bags from passengers.

Also very interesting re the runway. When is due to be replaced? will it be Asphalt? Anything that helps with AC breaking and performance is a win.

Personally more flights to Turkey/Greece/Cyprus would be a win. We have limited FR/TUI services and the rest Jet2 have the monopoly.

Interesting that it keeps referring to LBA as a broken airport that's been turned around.

Interesting that BA is not mentioned.
"But perhaps the ultimate prize is a direct Heathrow link – something the airport is actively pursuing with possible candidates being Logan Air and Emerald Airlines."

It’s easy to work out what they are trying to plan

Loganair are a BA codeshare partner
Emerald are a BA & EI franchise operator.

What franchise does Emerald operate? I thought they only operated a franchise with Aer Lingus. I know Loganair codeshare with BA but is that on all their routes or just specific ones?

Emerald are currently operating BA franchise service between Gatwick & Glasgow. If I remember correctly they also did Gatwick - Dublin up until last summer.

Don’t quote me on this as might be wrong, but I think BA only codeshare on Loganair’s 3x routes from Heathrow to Isle of Man, Dundee & Londonderry.

I'm unsure why this is seen as anything we didnt know. It's not. It's a fact that LBA and Loganair have discussed LHR. This news item is simply confirming what I reported months ago and that, contrary to what some may think, I don't make the stuff I report up. The same applies regarding the airport's hopes for flights to the States and Middle East, both of which have been frequently laughed off as dreamland stuff.

Regarding the comments about LBA being in ' terminal decline', this is obviously a play on the word 'terminal' and the decline refers to the airport infrastructure, not it's success commercially. The increasing passenger numbers despite the terminal and it's many failings proves the airport is not in decline. Quite the opposite, but the present growth isn't sustainable without the current and future investment.

This is what I put in post 4275 and 4295

'Its been mentioned many times, including in one of WH's ACC reports'

'We already knew all this from WH's ACC report 2 meetings ago. Its old news'

I dont know why everyone seems to be so surprised at what is in this interview.

it's not a ba franchise or a codeshare - it is a ba prime flight operated by emerald. previously the LGW-GLA route was operated as a W pattern by BA mailine, not by the LGW subsid Euroflyer.

ba does lots of codeshares across scotland with LM. after the demise of flybe1, they became the preferred domestic route partner. a lot of the intra-UK LM flights are also codeshared and bookable as standalone BA codeshares without connecting to/from a BA flight.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
