Been hearing some strong BA rumours again, but must stress they are only rumours. Now whether that takes the form of them in their own right or possibly a code-share partner remains to be seen. Either way that's where my best bet is going for one "new" airline.

If there is indeed to be a 2nd new airline, then who knows, but it could easily be BA in their own right plus LM operating in their own right too. Once again I am not in the know though.

Beyond that it could be anyone's guess but moving into 2027 I wouldn't think we will be stopping at just two. The future is looking very promising indeed.

As @Finger66 says BA was the 1st in its own right using A319 again to Heathrow and the other is Corredon to Antalya using Boeing 737’s

Why would they do London though? As far as I know the only London routes they do are PSO routes. Isle of Man, Derry and Dundee i believe. Surely if they're going to do a route from LBA it would be Aberdeen?
When they were discussing options with LBA management, they were looking at Heathrow (BA codeshare), Aberdeen and Southampton. Potentially Newquay too .

Interesting. How long ago was that?
Its been mentioned many times, including in one of WH's ACC reports.

Because LHR has bags more potential. BA were getting +100 on most flights so you would think its a no brainer.

Would you be even happy with BA cityflyer LCY-LBA 2 Daily?
It simply wouldn't work. LCY is very much about point-to-point travel into the centre of London and you've got a train to do that job far more effectively than a limited frequency of flights from LBA could ever do.

I think two more airlines for 2026 is not an unreasonable aspiration. I don't think either of the two I'd have in mind have merited a mention on the thread yet, though - but I'll leave it at that!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
