Let's hope 'rumour,' becomes reality. Was told a rumour that the could be at least 2x new airlines flying from LBA next summer 2026.
Global and IPS!Was told a rumour that the could be at least 2x new airlines flying from LBA next summer 2026.
Just like DSA then.If all these LBA rumours materialise we will be rivalling LHR
Been hearing some strong BA rumours again, but must stress they are only rumours. Now whether that takes the form of them in their own right or possibly a code-share partner remains to be seen. Either way that's where my best bet is going for one "new" airline.
If there is indeed to be a 2nd new airline, then who knows, but it could easily be BA in their own right plus LM operating in their own right too. Once again I am not in the know though.
Beyond that it could be anyone's guess but moving into 2027 I wouldn't think we will be stopping at just two. The future is looking very promising indeed.
What would Loganair operate in their own right though? Only route i can think of is Aberdeen, but is their the demand for that?plus LM operating in their own right too.
I can only see them doing a London. What would Loganair operate in their own right though? Only route i can think of is Aberdeen, but is their the demand for that?
Would be interesting to see if BA returned would be good to have more hub connections.
Why would they do London though? As far as I know the only London routes they do are PSO routes. Isle of Man, Derry and Dundee i believe. Surely if they're going to do a route from LBA it would be Aberdeen?I can only see them doing a London.
When they were discussing options with LBA management, they were looking at Heathrow (BA codeshare), Aberdeen and Southampton. Potentially Newquay too .Why would they do London though? Interesting. How long ago was that? When they were discussing options with LBA management, they were looking at Heathrow (BA codeshare), Aberdeen and Southampton. Potentially Newquay too .
6 months but more recently, the new Loganair CEO spent a day at LBA with management and also met with the local travel agencies. That would have been around February.Interesting. How long ago was that?
Its been mentioned many times, including in one of WH's ACC reports.Interesting. How long ago was that?
Because LHR has bags more potential. BA were getting +100 on most flights so you would think its a no brainer. Why would they do London though? Not really. It never worked in the past. Not even from Manchester. The main thing about LHR is the available connections.Would you be even happy with BA cityflyer LCY-LBA 2 Daily?
Yeah that’s reasonably trueNot really. It never worked in the past. Not even from Manchester. The main thing about LHR is the available connections.
@lbaspotter any idea of when/if we may hear something officially?@Finger
As @Finger66 says BA was the 1st in its own right using A319 again to Heathrow and the other is Corredon to Antalya using Boeing 737’s
@lbaspotter any idea of when/if we may hear something officially?
It simply wouldn't work. LCY is very much about point-to-point travel into the centre of London and you've got a train to do that job far more effectively than a limited frequency of flights from LBA could ever do.Would you be even happy with BA cityflyer LCY-LBA 2 Daily?
