This is really positive as it’s extra passengers without encroaching on those valuable out of hours slots!
Excellent point @AirBingley making it positive news on both fronts. I have said before but this could be a real catalyst for more to come especially if we can achieve this with away based flying at the moment. Actual W patterns won't help too much as they will hit the PM peak depending on sector length. I can also see it not been long before demand outstrips capacity so hopefully a frequency increase to come too

It certainly is good news and maybe a trigger for other routes such as jeddah which im guessing on an A321 would be easily achievable direct as its probably only another hrs flying time or so than the Egyptian resorts, and perhaps turkish might take interest if they see good loads out of LBA As probably many yorkshire passengers pass thru istanbul onto pakistan. The west yorkshire region has one of the largest asian populations with very few flights to pakistan from any part of the uk and we all know the poor reliability of PIA , let MAN have PIA whilst we enjoy air blue.

Where does this crap come from?…a BA aeroplane for some reason and we are going everywhere now…View attachment 32778View attachment 32779
It's not quite total crap as I think you will find that in my past reports from the ACC. I mentioned that LBA had been in discussions with carriers about services to Pakistan, the Middle East, and the USA. It now appears the first of these may happen soon. I expect the USA may take longer, especially given who runs the place and his impact on tourism, but, a specific airline was mentioned by the CEO - one which of course I am not at liberty to divulge. So, this, report is only telling it how it is.

Frankly, given the hysteria sbout the new Heathrow of the North at DSA, I expect to see quite a bit of publicity relating to what is, or might be happening at the one airport in Yorkshire that is actually operational. The more, the better.

Whilst you can't predict what might happen in the future, the A321XLR offers LBA a unique opportunity to go long haul due to its range and its ability to make less dense regional routes profitable.

Really? Doesn't mean LBA will get long haul does it. Long haul needs proper facilities like proper lounges, even when the old part is refurbished LBA has a lot of catching up to do to attract long haul airlines.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
