Trump is damaging relations with allies, he has no concept of diplomacy- he is a narcissist and appreciates no one, other than himself. His vocabulary is worse than an adolescent child where English isn’t their native tongue. Great, big, brilliant - bad, terrible etc, has to repeat to try and sound relevant. He is a businessman, but unfortunately he is damaging his own brand - America. Like @YorkshireLad i too would not be travelling to the US at the moment. Tourism and travel in general to America has nose dived and the world view of them as a country has taken a massive downturn. Post Trump their government on an international front will have to build relations, and the American tourist board will no doubt have to work very hard to regain tourists.
Except the exchange rate is better now than it has been for years and I think this is going to be a significant factor which will boost tourism from the UK, or at least act as a mitigating factor. For the same reason we will see less US citizens coming to the UK. I'm with you but most people arent bothered about the politics, if they can get a cheap deal to Disneyland they will just go for it.

Not sure what you mean about Squatter Biden, he won that particular election. Not forgetting the appalling scenes by Trump supporters on the Capital Building, when the result was announced . I don't wish to political is a narcissist who's main interest is himself. Lets not even mention ICE.
And lets not forget the good old bbc editing footage of trump making out that he ordered his supporters to fight like hell, hope trump continues to sue the arse off the bbc! Its about time these woke organisations are shut down, its due to the like of bbc, cnn that folk hate the orange man because they've been brainwashed, a mean come on we all know what the bbc is like! But yes trump is certainly a love or hate character, guess its all down to which way you lean, but i guess the one fab thing that i love about the man is how he really p**** folk off esp the left, so satisfying!

Thanks a right lot for that. Glad to see in what regard I and so many I know are clearly held in your eyes. Almost as if we're just here for your entertainment and ridicule

I will now heed the warnings and make no further comments regarding this topic on this thread

As much as I hate to say it but I wouldn't use LBA to the US, Far East or anywhere where I would need to connect in DUB or AMS purely due to the fact that KLM and Aer Lingus are so unreliable, I would rather drive to MAN as much as I don't like it. We normally go to Florida for Christmas and use Virgin to MCO…but not while idiots in office and I use Cathay to CAN when I go each year. Last month I paid £250 for my Chinese Visa and now they are free! Typical Starmer 😂😂😂😂😂

Ryanair seem quite content at the LBA base. Turns over the desired revenue and profit. Will adding another aircraft dilute some Yields? Where will that aircraft also go without diluting some yield (by increasing frequencies to Canaries, mainland Spain, Portugal)?

Ryanair don't seem big in Greece and one suspects that is due to the seasonability of the country as a whole. But if they were bigger I wouldn't be surprised to see them add Greece routes to the LBA base with a 4th aircraft.

Ryanair also have many other bases competing for aircraft. As I say Ryanair are happy about revenue and profit but maybe somewhere else gets the aircraft because of either competition (Tirana & Wizz) or makes more money.

As for easyJet - A321NEO deliveries are slow. Focus is on shifting the A319 out, A320/NEO as replacement. I don't see them growing at the moment. Coupled with new base at NCL.

And Loganair earlier this week announcing new routes to Jersey from UK airport East Midlands and Norwich. East Midlands is daily from June and Norwich weekly, I know we have Jet2 on the route in the summer months but this is not a daily service. Are the team at LBA talking with Loganair to see if we can get the Leeds-Southampton-Jersey route back after Blue Island went under before the service started.

I wonder if Loganair may apply for the Heathrow remedy slots that have become available once again which were part of the deal when British Airways bought bmi British Midland in 2012.

These slots can be used on UK domestic routes and have been used by both Virgin Little Red & Flybe in the past.

i think only for certain domestic routes tho? MAN and ABZ come to mind.

Yes listed as Edinburgh & Aberdeen.

But that didn’t stop Virgin little red doing Manchester, Edinburgh & Aberdeen whilst flybe (mk2) used them for routes Belfast City, Amsterdam & Leeds/Bradford.

Yes, why should they only be for the likes of EDI and/or ABZ when they already have an LHR service and other airports like LBA are craving one. I suppose it will again boil down to which route any airline sees the most profit in. If on an ATR though, EDI or ABZ against BA jets may not be that appealing. 3 a day ex LBA to LHR with also a NQY in between would work. Here's wishing........

well that was exactly the point really when these remedial slots were created - those places were going to a monopoly once BA took BMI over, so the remedial slots are supposed to encourage other airlines to start the routes and bring back some competition. they weren't supposed to cover routes where there was no service anyway by BA.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
