Those columns lreally do look very similar to detailing in the original terminal building.

Well there is a report on our present Government's
desk that says by 2030 that there will be only 3 airports in the UK viz Heathrow, Belfast and Glasgow!!

That isn't the Governments plan. Thats the World Economic Forum/the fourth reichs plan. And our Westminster puppets are just executing that BS.

So can you confirm the brickwork is stripped back to the metal framework now underneath the new cladding? It looks that way.

I think the majority of the brickwork surrounding the columns went some time ago and it has just been various different cladding the last few remodels.

The old brickwork still forms much of the original building if you were to strip everything back to bare.

Does anyone know what the diggers have been up to around stand 2 today? Loads of rubble removed. And yes I know there is no current stand 2 before anyone picks me up on that point. I do note that the 'tent' has gone.

Taxiway Alpha needs several concrete bays replaced ready for summer. The ground underneath has had numerous drainage issues for a long time and causes them to deteriorate. This also applies to the runway and other areas that have had constant repairs.

As I pointed out sometime ago, concrete is non flexible and does crack and drop down when the subsurface is corrupted That's the wonder of bituminous materiel which is flexible and indeed does dip, bit it can be repaired more quickly, and is as strong as concrete when hot rolled.

Isn't stand 2 now where Jet2 have their baggage facilities? If so that would need Jet2/LBA to find another area for the baggage sorting facilities. Which in turn needs a re-design/re-accommodation of the Check in hall for Jet2.

Stand 1 will become available once winter season is over as usual. I believe they store the winter equipment elsewhere and then give the stand a good clean before it can be used. Usually has a Jet2 737-300.

Stand 2 cannot be reclaimed without taking out the Jet2 baggage make up facility. This backs onto check in Hall B that what was supposed to be a temporary structure all those years ago.

There are limited options for putting aircraft on stand 3 due to the size available. It mostly consists of baggage trolleys at present.

Proposals are in place to look at removing the additional baggage belt Portacabin and offices that occupy stand four. This will allow for remodeling options of what were stands 3 and 4.

Stand 5 has been used a lot in the summer last year. This winter its use has been sparse though an Aer Lingus did use it on Friday

It is mostly used as vehicle parking at present. Once the taxiway works are complete and the summer traffic picks up then it will likely be operational again.

1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15L/15R, 16L/16R, 17, 18L/18R, 19, 20A, 20B, 21A, 21B, 21C. I count 21 and there are also options to park on the taxiway
