Use this prefix for new threads for Manchester Airport
because they are the most skint
And now they have virgin as there owners they surely would have a bigger lobbying power to get their rates down. I doubt they need the hassle of reporting MAN.

Just reading about the purchase of Monarch's BHX hanger by STS Aviation Services and wondered what the latest was on the ex Air Livery unit and the FLS/TCX hanger?

Last I heard was that ex AL was staying as a storage facility and TCX was possibly going to Dublin Aerospace.

Dublin Aerospace have got the TCX hangar and are recruiting. They will reportedly have Virgin, EasyJet, Jet2 and some other Euro airlines as initial customers, with all aircraft types barring code F accepted.

Hut group has the AL hangar and while used for storage at the moment, apparently has a clause which states it needs to stay an airside, aviation function. There are rumours about what HUT intend to use the hangar for, quite exciting plans at that, but, I'll refrain from speculation until more detail is known.

Pleased to see a lot of the toilets around the airport/terminals have been refurbished over the last year or two...and most remain clean and in working order.
Is there any plan to do the same with the train station toilets within the actual station building (where the coach/bus departures are)?

Spent a day at the airport during January, a significant time on level 13 and couldn’t help but think how much I would miss that place if they actually demolish T1.
I visited the new MSCP at T2 and it just isn’t the same by any means!
I am not the biggest fan of T1 by any means, but would be so so happy if the MSCP is kept...any news on current or future plans?

No news as far as the car parks are concerned, however I agree with regards to the viewing opportunity. The new T2 car park is very difficult to photograph from.

Latest post on Dried Fruit, from a trusted source, is that both T2 & T3 will close from next Monday with all flights operating from T1.

Statement from Manchester Airport - consolidation of operations
Like all airports across the world, Manchester Airport has experienced a significant fall in passenger volumes as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Given this reduction in departing and arriving flights, and the likelihood traffic will decline further, we have taken the decision to work towards operating from a single terminal.
This will happen on Wednesday 25th March and all flights that were due to depart from Terminal Two and Terminal Three, will now do so from Terminal One. This means passengers should check-in and pass through security in Terminal One from this date.
Anyone due to return to Manchester Airport will arrive into Terminal One, regardless of the Terminal they originally departed from. Those due to collect passengers from the Airport should also be aware of this change.
In some instances, where people find themselves returning to a different Terminal from which they departed, and have a vehicle in one of Manchester Airport’s car parks, we will make the necessary arrangements for these customers to collect their vehicles and will be in touch with them in due course to explain how this will work.
Anyone who has booked car parking or lounge access for Terminals Two or Three, and will be travelling on or after 25th March, will be able to transfer their booking to Terminal One.
Those who have booked directly with us will be contacted proactively by email at the appropriate time. Those who have booked through a third party should contact the agent they used.
Throughout this transition, we will have colleagues on hand to help passengers and will have extra wayfinding in place to guide people to the right places.
More information on the change in terminals can be found on our website, or passengers can follow our social media channels for the latest advice and help.
We would like to thank our customers for their understanding, and would also like to place on record our thanks to our colleagues, who have shown huge dedication and professionalism during this challenging time.

I would describe this kind of reporting as sensationalism and poor journalism at best. So #ianwhite from the BBC was happy to be cooped up in a tin can for 10 hours flying back from the Caribbean but then became concerned about social distancing when entering the arrivals hall at Manchester airport. Pathetic. Come on BBC/MEN, do you not think we have enough to worry about?

Please keep within this forum until midday Tuesday.

MAN will remain 24/7 but terminals arrs 0600-1600 and deps 0800-1600 from Weds 01Apr, initially to 30Apr, OAN to go soon so although it is public(ish) the OAN might not have gone out yet.

Anybody know what the RAF C-17 callsign ASCOT818 orbiting low overhead this evening was? Continued onto Birmingham Approach afterwards.

I think that will be the last one for a while. Greece have closed their borders to flights from the uUK.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
