MAG response to Government quarantine ruling:

I may have to travel on business to France and Germany during July (unsure exactly when yet) and of course it depends on the quarantine rules...but can anyone please confirm it's mandatory or not to bring your own PPE (masks/gloves) with you or the airport will provide at the entrance to security?
As flights are still limited, this is enough of a reason to justify only operating T1, but surely as airlines come back and more flights & passengers use the airport, MAN/MAG will have to re-open T2 and/or T3?
With regards to T2 specifically...has the legacy part now been closed for eventual refurbishment?

A few weeks ago the BBC ran a news feature saying when passengers arrive they will be given a mask to wear if they didn't already have one, so unless this has changed you can wear your own if you prefer.

Aviador is correct. The airport's website asks that all passengers, where possible, provide their own mask and gloves. The airport will provide the items if necessary.

Good luck to anyone who can wear one of those ghastly masks for a couple of hours in the terminal then hours up in the air and in the arriving terminal..10 mins is about as much as I can stand before my face overheats and I struggle for breath. The Practice nurse I saw yesterday expressed the same views as me and said as soon as she has finished with a patient she has to take it off to breathe. If this is to go on for some time then thats how long it will take for me to get back in the air. Just can`t do it and I bet that applies to millions of potential flyers as well.

According to the latest NOTAM the CV-19 restricted opening hours are valid until 0545z on 20th June. Also the restriction to using Terminal 1 has been extended until 31st July.

Obviously this is subject to change.

Ref T2X - I know the current situation concerning reduced employees on site, so therefore remaining work to be completed is going to take longer, but does anyone have any info/updates they can share ref the remaining work to be done on the T2X project? Do we have any idea at all when MAN/MAG will make an announcement ref the official opening date of T2X?
Looking forward to the return of the updates from the MAN TP team.

Indeed LS@MAN I look forward to when can post positive information on any updates received. I did see a post elsewhere that said the T2 might be reopening in August, but how true that is I don't know.

As soon as I hear any definite news I'll post it on the MANTP thread.

As far as I know it’s pretty much done. Testing has been done as much as can be whilst observing social distancing. If that’s been good enough or if they still need to test flood security / check in / baggage I don’t know.

I've recently seen photo's on social media of the measures taken within side of the airport down the M62. Such as what to expect at check in, security and at the gate.
I assume the government has set out clear guidelines on how airports should operate inside the terminals during these times, however, are there any photo's/video's online of MAN?
I'm due to travel from T3 on 13th July.

BBC North West ran an article in the week showing a single aisle temperature checker in T1 before security.

Hi good folks

Has anyone got a start date for Singapore airlines resuming both Singapore and Houston flights although I do appreciate Houston is probably a non starter due Covid 19. Apolgies if I've missed the info above on previous posts.

Cheers from Bilko

Flights are on sale from 1st August 5 weekly SIN - MAN & MAN - IAH, and 2nd August MAN - SIN.

Don't believe Houston is one of the approved gateway airports so that may very well change...

Ok thanks for that yes I agree Houston looking dodgey although if it does start it will help ensure where I work in Security at Transfers being opened again for Transfer pax from/to USA

If I do get back there from 15th July when T2 opens if accurate pax figures are required by you folks please feel free to ask and I will do my best.

It’s going to be a long haul for the airport in terms of pax travelling and with regard to jobs certainty it’s going to be like walking on the Giants Causeway decidedly uneven

Cheers from Bilko

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
