Did anyone go up to the Cemetery yesterday morning to the airport police security 'event' ?

I didn't, but Im told a very gobby, opinionated, unpleasant female member of the NIMBY group that pretends to be an environmental group was on the scene very quickly complaining bitterly about night flights. The police were in at the deep end with her.

I imagine though the most frequent issues raised would be the bushes and trees obscuring the view; closely followed by people invading the cemetary; then the lack of a proper viewing area. No doubt littering and anti social behaviour was up there too. The first issue helps create the second, whilst even a viewing area wouldn't resolve the issues at Cemetary Road. People will always go there.

I went and all of those things you mentioned were raised. I raised the issue of trees around the perimeter fence. They were already aware that there were security implications. Sounds like they have plan for the litter and patrol as much as they can at Plane Trees crash gate. Have made arrests for anti social behaviour.

Shame more people didnt turn up, but a Sunday morning isnt the best time.

Looks like it was Kaos in the LBA Arrivals this afternoon. 2 hours from landing to getting baggage.

I know this is due to UK Boarder Force not been fully staffed during summer peak.but it doesn’t look good either way for the airport..

Looks like it was Kaos in the LBA Arrivals this afternoon. 2 hours from landing to getting baggage.

I know this is due to UK Boarder Force not been fully staffed during summer peak.but it doesn’t look good either way for the airport..

Its really not acceptable, the airport needs to appeal to travellers, this has the opposite effect. Are we sure it was Border Force?

I reviewed that this morning and rolled my eyes. 🙄 It shows a queue system doing what it is designed to do. We went through last week along with two other flights at the same time, it didn't look any different to the footage. A huge nothing to see here moment. Don't worry though because at the rate we're losing flights, the ones left will fly through immigration and arrivals.

SImilar complaints at BHX too on line where their locals claim BHX is the worst UK airport. I seem to have heard that argument before........

Looks like Border Force staff are on leave. Maybe they are in the queue!

hmmm well even content creators are breaking the law taking pictures in an immigration area. General areas are fine, but the photos in the hall are not for privacy reasons and to protect border force staff. So let’s hope he enjoys his likes, he won’t be able to say he didn’t see the signs, as he had plenty of time to see them!
