Not reporting but regarding a movement.

Does anyone know the reason for TCX36MG from Glasgow to Tenerife diverting to Manchester on Friday 12th October ? Around Blackpool it squawked 7700 and headed for Manchester.

Perhaps someone local heard it on the scanner stating the nature of the emergency ?

Cheers

Hi Woody, thanks for joining Forums4airports!

A squark of 7700 is an emergency squark but I can't find any more information on this. I looked on the Aviation Herald and I couldn't see any incident listed there for Friday the 12th.

Re: Movements & Heads Up

Antonov 124 UR-82072 has arrived at MAN on a rest stop on its way to the USA. Will depart tomorrow.

Re: Movements & Heads Up

Also stopping by today was an RAF Tristar on a medevac flight. Arrived 1224 departed under 1 hour later.

Re: Movements & Heads Up

Due at 1100 tomorrow is the first UK registered B787, G-TUIA as TOM9768 from Everett.

This will be the 4th B787 to visit MAN after N787BX, A7-BCC and A7-BCB.

Re: Movements & Heads Up

Well, MAN seems to be blessed by the B787.

After G-TUIA yesterday, G-TUIB was delivered today, and G-TUIC should be on the deck in the next 2 weeks.

Not content with that, yet another B787 is making a visit tomorrow, this time in the form of SP-LRA, a LOT Polish B787.

It will arrive at 2300, and depart at 1800 on Monday.

So, the list of B787 visitors so far at MAN

N787BX
A7-BCB
A7-BCC
G-TUIA
G-TUIB

*SP-LRA
*G-TUIC

*confirmed to visit but not been through yet.

It seems B787's are going to be a regular feature at MAN, as we already have 3 based, along with the other TUI examples to follow, and no doubt Etihad will send in 1 or 2 of theirs when they have them.
Also, Qatar seem to sub their equipment frequently so I doubt its the last MAN has seen of their B787's.
Also, United Airlines have made MAN the B787 alternate for its European and LHR flights when they resume.

Antonov AN225 due into MAN

On the 24th June, the mighty 6 engined AN225 will arrive at MAN to collect some equipment.

The AN225 is the worlds largest airliner and is certainly worth a visit to see its sheer size, its like a flying ship!

It arrives at 1130 on 24th, departs 0900 on 25th.

Re: Antonov AN225 due into MAN

Its from 'undisclosed location' to Seoul.

Carrying shipping equipment.

Re: Movements & Heads Up

Can I ask why the topics were merged?

Personally the MAN boards are not that busy anyway (not sure if most on here simply not interested in MAN), plus, the sheer nature of the AN225, the fact it is so large, and only 1 example flying, that it warrants its own thread.

Having it in the 'movements' thread means many may not choose to look, whereas its own thread means that people who would not normally be bothered about MAN movements may look and relish the chance to see the AN225, as its such a rare visitor to the UK (only MAN/EMA/DSA/PIK have been known to handle this).

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Antonov AN225 due into MAN

Hi User001

So long as you add "Antonov AN225 due into MAN" to the subject box when you write your post it will display on the main index page as just that and not "Movements & Heads Up"

Couple of football charters which have appeared on the systems:

Garuda Indonesia A330-300

GA901 arrives 1500 on 16th, departs as GA900 at 1700
GA901 arrives 0740 on 29th, departs as GA900 at 0940

For Liverpool FC games in Jakarta and Melbourne

AtlasAir charter B747-400 (said to be N322SG again elsewhere)

5Y2856 arrives 2200 on 8th, departs as 5Y2857 on 9th at 1400
5Y2862 arrives 0450 on 29th, departs as 5Y2863 on 30th at 2000

For Manchester United in Thailand and China

HiFly charter A340-600 (9H-SEA)

5K732P arrives at 1700 on 10th, departs as 5K732 at 2100
5K761 arrives at 0450 on 27th, departs as 5K771 at 1525.

For Manchester City in Africa and Hong Kong.

Also, the annual student charters from Alitalia have begun and will continue for the next few weeks and lastly the Antanov 124 (the AN225's slightly smaller brother) will be making frequent visits over the next 5 weeks at least.

Anything unusual due in on Saturday afternoon? I'll be calling into the viewing park to grab a few pickies.

There may be an AN124 aviador.

Came in Friday and departs some point Saturday.

An early heads up for those who would either like to see an A340-600 at MAN, or, to see the stunning livery of A6-EHJ. (just google that registration to see)

On Sunday 15th September, the afternoon EY21 flight will be run by the above aircraft.

During its 6 hour turnaround, it will operate a flight out to Dublin to perform a fly-past in the 'flight-fest' airshow, before returning to Manchester to take the EY22 flight home at 21:05.

Saturday 14th September sees the BBMF Avro Lancaster call into MAN for a fuel stop/crew rest.

It arrives at 1255 from Bournemouth, then departs 1545 to Blackpool to take part in the Southport Air Show.

Subject to change of course, should be interesting to see the Lancaster taxy amongst the B777's and A380's, real way to see how aviation has changed!

Some up and coming movements for the next month:

N217FE B727 in to Air Livery on 2nd Sept. Will become G-OSRA (Oil Spill Response Aircraft). Will then depart to its new base at DSA once paperwork is handed over.

Tradewinds DC9 is due into MAN in the next 20 minutes (9A-BTE). Will depart 1445

Avro Lancaster on 14th may now be cancelled. It needs Avgas which is not available at MAN, but they are looking to send it in by road from Barton. Will be confirmed soon.

Emirates will send the A380 on the evening EK19/20 FROM 21-30 Sept, making MAN 2xA380 and 1xB77W on these dates.

Etihad will send A6-EHJ A340-600 on 15th Sept EY21/22 flight. It will perform at Dublin flightfest between duties.

Linksair EMB145CJ F-HAFS is currently at MAN and has been for the past 2 days.

Hope this helps

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
