Report on parking and transport issues.
The Airport have put a post on social media regarding the news article basically saying what’s been said on here that it has no affiliation to the Airport.
We are aware of the news articles and social media coverage regarding an offsite meet and greet parking service at LBA. Please be aware that this unofficial service is not affiliated with Leeds Bradford Airport in any way. The only official Meet & Greet parking product for LBA can be booked at: https://www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk/parking

Just received this today from LBA notifying a 50p increase in the drop off/pick up zone car park charge. No doubt it will prompt another round of greedy LBA comments on line and in the press from people who can't get their head around the fact the airport has to generate the money to reinvest somehow. At least we know that the owners are spending ÂŁ200m on the airport over the next 5 years. No pain, no gain, and at least the free parking area remains for anyone who is able and willing to walk for a whole 5 minutes whatever the weather.

Dear ACC Member

We write to inform you of a change to the pricing structure of the airport’s Pick Up & Drop Off (PUDO) car parking offer from 3rd April 24.

To help address ongoing increases in the airport’s operating costs, we have taken the decision to increase the PUDO rate by £0.50 making the minimum charge £6.50.

LBA’s pricing remains competitive with other UK regional airports and customers in full EV’s will still be able to park for free for one hour in the PUDO, encouraging environmentally sustainable travel. Travelling Blue Badge holders will still have access to the PUDO for 60mins for the £6.50 fee.

Additionally, we will continue to offer one hour free parking onsite within close walking distance of the terminal, making LBA the only UK airport to do so.

The changes are being communicated to passengers through updated signage and our website.

Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

In respect of the ÂŁ200m investment figure, what will the additional ÂŁ100m be invested in (further to the ÂŁ100m current extension refurb and 2 additional stands)?
Not sure if the exact breakdown but the ÂŁ200m over the next 5 years includes:

*Terminal extension
*Existing terminal reconfiguration and refurb.
*Replacement of one Airbridge.
*Additional stands built as needed up to a max of 10.
* Runway surface repairs and drainage improvements
* Tarmac top surfacing of runway over a 3 year period.
* Various other smaller projects including an enlarged fuel farm.

Also worth remembering they have had 4 of the new and very expensive security scanners to procure and install, and the staff to train in their use, and they are in the process of converting their airside vehicles to electric and installing the necessary infrastructure.

To be honest for the sake of 50p I wouldnt have bothered. The negative publicity this will generate just isnt worth it.

Your opinion but you aren't running the airport, and clearly those who are think it is. They know the numbers and how much those additional 50p's will generate. None of us do.

What with our local gutter press that’s nothing new.

So if you was part of LBA’s Management how would you go about recovering the £200 million investment costs instead?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
