With the Trump factor, demand going West is only going to decrease from UK and Europe in general. And the likes of United, American, Delta will have higher priorities. As Iberia have shown, in the short to medium term the A321XLR will be used to replace wide bodies on marginal routes rather than to open up routes to secondary airports.

The Middle East is a different matter.

Perhaps less US flying might turn into more Canada flying. Just like the US but without a moron in charge. Anyone for Toronto?
From the outside looking in, I've never wanted to go to the States because it doesn't look safe enough. The fact that over 50% of the US electorate voted for a bafoon is worrying too. For me Canada anyday over the inward looking USA.

There is a big opportunity if things continue the way they are here in Canada. It has been reported that bookings between the US and Canada have declined drastically and for April 2025, only 295,982 bookings have been recorded, a 75.7% decline. People are opting for the Caribbean and Mexico rather than the US. Many people that have year round properties in Florida and Arizona are selling up due to the political unease and potential conflict through border crossings. The Canadian population are very motivated to retaliate against the tariffs imposed by Trump and his ramblings of Canada being the 51st state, to the point where I have never seen the country so united. I expect that instead of going south to the US, people will be looking east to Europe and the UK for their vacation plans. So as long as Trump keeps angering the world with his protectionist mandate, then opportunities will open up for better travel links to UK regional airports such as Leeds, who have had direct links to Canada. WestJet is expanding its transatlantic service to Europe with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, including new routes from Halifax to Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Paris, and increased frequencies on existing routes like London, Dublin and Edinburgh.

This is not a political forum LBA4EVER, if you are commenting on my FACTS about why I believe there is an opportunity for transatlantic travel between Canada and the US, then your political rant is unjustified. I will not stoop to correct your comments, but if you need to pledge your support for Trump, then there are plenty of radical sites that you can post to. Being affected by what is going on with Trump and the change in air travel trends in Canada, I believe that I am in a better position to comment on route potential development that is happening between Canada and the US.

Wow and a big wow at that! i did not even start this conversation on mr trump, i was quite franky appalled by some of the previous comments on the guy and the words used. So dont dare be having a go at me!
Gosh thats rattled a few cages haha

Never had you down as a crackpot @LBA4EVER but if you are on Trumps side I may have to reconsider my viewpoint. Of course we are all entitled to our own viewpoint but more harm than good is coming as long as he remains in power
Im only as crazy as you finger haha

Correndon looking at Leeds, along with other regional airports. Possible flights to Egypt

I've always wondered why Corendon are shirt sponsors for Hull City, yet offer nothing from the Yorkshire region.

You realise Corendon is an anagram of "or conned" so perhaps as well this article didn't appear 15 days ago!

Dff suggesting some legislation hurdles to overcome for anything Egypt.

Let's hope for a positive outcome as new unserved routes and a new airline for LBA would be fantastic. Hopefully 2 of several in the pipeline!

It’s because the owner of Hull City is Turkish and presumably quite a big name there so has managed to negotiate shirt sponsorship with them. It is a bit odd though, sponsoring a team in such a visual way yet odd marketing when you don’t serve the people you’re advertising to!

Correndon even have a Hull City liveried 737 flying around on routes that don’t seem to include the U.K. It has on occasion visited HUY however, when taking players and fans on summer camps to Turkey.

I did see on Dried fruit about HUY and SEN being mentioned. I couldn’t read the article though. Be good for them airports but think there would be some more likely options first.

Egypt and Tunisia are ones I think would do great from LBA. Big market, good value for money.. always think good one for easyJet/TUI

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
