But didnt the airport say that whilst they were looking for long haul flights they didnt want wide bodies?That in itself isn't a good enough reason as the 787 can operate out of Leeds even though it doesn't. Flights between Leeds and India might not be as popular as a route to Pakistan, arguably the same could be said for Manchester on its own. So for this reason flights to india will have a better reach from Manchester as people are prepared to travel there from neighbouring regions. A niche route and LBA might be in with more of a chance.
