I see the 13.50 inbound has been cancelled today. Anyone have a reason.....poor load, aircraft shortage at LHR!!!

??

There is a late rotation every Sunday.....
Seemingly not on the day I wished to book. I had the option of early or midday. The same thing occurred last time I wished to book. That time. I ended up driving instead. This time. Though annoying, I was able to choose the midday, though I would have preferred late.

It doesn't really matter whether it's this or that which interferes with the schedule, at the end of the day all we want is a dependable service which allows us to connect with the wider schedule! On 3 May my daughter, a regular traveller to the USA, was flying on the early shuttle to LHR to connect to a flight to JFK on her honeymoon. The night before the flight was cancelled due to over running maintenance on the aircraft. We eventually ended up on a direct AA flight from Manchester. We learn not to bother with the LBA/LHR shuttle and drive over to Manchester. We don't ask for a lot, just a dependable service and not just to be treated as a third class service.

You are really unlucky.

I've caught it most weeks now on a Sunday evening for the last 3 years

I have had a quick look at the BA app (I am getting quite good at apps these days) and it would appear that the late rotation is not operating on Sundays throughout July. With regards luck, I think it is quite unfortunate that a regular customer like myself (check the box below - it is my most frequented route) is coming up against these problems. The question I ask is, how many other people not quite so mouthy as myself are also finding this problem and simply switching to the train, not to return? Not to mention the alarmingly high number of cancellations. Like I said, on this occasion, I was flexible enough to be able to choose the midday flight though it was not necessarily ideal. Last time, it was not an option.

This sort of thing dents customer confidence. We have been saying ever since the Heathrow service returned that people need to patronise it or it would disappear. Well BA, the customer needs a reliable product in order to do that. The very cynical part of me wonders whether there is a bit of dirty tricks involved to try and reduce numbers enough to warrant its cessation. The VERY cynical part. The concilliatory part of me thinks that as July is the start of the school holidays, there might not be quite so many business passengers knocking around.

Lastly, the plainly ridiculous part of me is looking at some of the changes made to the flight times into the future and thinking that they are starting to look, little by little, more like the sort of schedule that would indicate a night stopper. I must be getting tired.

"Leeds Bradford Airport has agreed a deal for passengers on British Airways flights to Heathrow Terminal 5 to travel for free on the Heathrow Express rail link to central London throughout June and July.

The deal has been struck between the airport and Heathrow Express, the non-stop train service between Heathrow and London Paddington station.

Taking about 20 minutes from Terminal 5, passengers to the Heathrow Express will benefit from WiFi, Hex TV, at seat power and dedicated luggage space."

If its any consolation we're not the only ones to have been cancelled short notice - our neighbours in Manchester have also suffered as have others - there seems to be a few nasty delays again at LHR - BA seem to take out a few shorter duration mid day flights to try to get the evening wave back on track when the delays creep in!

And Newcastle also.

I have to say, it has been a catastrophic few months for BA and the LHR service. Absolutely dreadful performance and playing into the hands of the likes of KLM, Aer Lingus and Virgin Trains.

I would also like to point out that, according to Flight Radar, the flight was cancelled yesterday, suggesting that it was a pre-emptive cancellation.

The problem is that any kind of iffy weather forecast for the London area may see the CAA/NATS advise airlines to "ration" their services - LHR is pretty much at 98% to 99% capacity so any issues that arise can see significant delays. Consequently for BA, when push comes to shove it is probably better for them to operate all long-haul flights and reduce domestic flying. This, of course, does allow the likes of EI, KL, LH and AF to cash in for travellers going further afield as they are normally known for not cancelling services (if we can overlook the strikes that occur at LH and AF!).

Experienced the BA cancellation process first hand this morning. Through checked on the morning northbound and it was cancelled with a text just after 3 am. The transit involved an overnight at LHR and on arrival at T5 departures landside it was carnage - a queue over half the length of T5 to rebook as the last 2 days have caused massive operational problems for BA (not helped by a move to a new system which seemed to need everything keying in twice during changeover which made life painfully slow) - the chap on the desk said that it was a mix of crew and aircraft not being in the right place - they really don't like cancelling flights as it does cause a lot of problems.

We weren't initially offered the afternoon flight as it was full but he agreed to overbook it after smiling sweetly as by the time we were served the offer of the train seemed hardly worthwhile - in the event there were 2 spare seats. One bag arrived and the other did not which is bizarre!

As we sat the cancellations started again and the rebooking queues grew once more! It does not seem happy period for BA at LHR. One thing I would say is that BA had lots of leaflets around about passenger compensation!

Came up on northbound BA flight this evening. A little apprehensive about using the service given frequency of cancellations and because flying out of LBA early tomorrow. In the event no problem save half hour late arrival due to " operational problems" at LHR. The flight was fully booked which makes one wonder how well this route could do with a night stopper and better reliability.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
