Looks like Katowice is the only one to see reductions compared with W11/12, with a net loss of two flights. I believe the other reductions are regular seasonal changes.

Another forum is talking about a rumoured withdrawal of services. Is this just the usual rumour mill or might there be something behind it?

I dont think MAG will have ever stopped trying to tempt Wizz away from DSA and LPL to EMA and MAN. Whether they ever would 'jump ship' remains to be seen. They have managed to carve out a niche at DSA and account for quite a substantial amount of total passenger throughput.

Could be a degree of truth in this, there is alot of talk regarding Wizz and and impending announcement at MAN.

Where would that leave DSA if it turns out to be true?

It doesnt strike me as a threat to DSA, however I suppose DSA is their largest operation in the north and it is rumoured they are to pull out completely. Im sure we will find out in a few weeks if they are to move into MAN.

The feedback from DSA is that Wizz are happy with the airport, the route structure and flight loadings / yield. If they are opening at MAN, I can't see it being at the expense of Doncaster, more likely a completely new operation, or a transfer of operations from LPL.

Wizz have now loaded a full programme for DSA summer 2013, pretty much a mirror image of the 2012 offering.

Thanks for updating us with that stars&sids. I don't know if you are 'in the know' but It certainly looks like your previous post holds some weight.

It's a good job DSA has Wizzair. Their flight to Katowice is the sole departure today from what must be a very lonely DSA departure lounge!

That's true Lysander, TOM don't have any Weds flights this winter. Let's hope that we've now bottomed out, and that Wizz continue to support DSA as much as they have in the last few years, and that they also push the airport heavily in the new year to continue their growth here.

Just to add. Wizz have also confirmed that their fleet is expected to grow by 11 aircraft by 2014. They also suggest they expect to carry 1.3million passengers through DSA 'over the next couple of years'. Whilst not clear exactly how long that time period might be, I believe Wizzair currently handle around 300,000 passengers per year from DSA.

I think there is every chance that DSA may become a base by 2014, and if this is the case then routes to other parts of Europe would be added.

It's great to hear the Wizz Air are making a good go of it at the airport. They have attracted a good customer base between Eastern European and the UK. Selling flights to say: Spain, France or Italy might prove more difficult should they decide to open up a base at the airport.

What is their Luton operation like?. I would guess that an operator offering cheap flights from DSA will attract the current non existent customer base that lives in the region but will travel to places like EMA or even Glasgow for a cheap flight.

Are WizzAir starting a route to Bratislava from Donny? Was told this today, but don't know if true.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
