I have just returned from a holiday in Sicily and it had to happen. Normally I sail through arrivals but it took 45mins to get through Border control, we queued from the bottom of the escalator (some on our flight were standing outside). The one good thing was that luggage was on the carousel when we eventually got to baggage reclaim.
Hopefully it will not be as bad when I come back from KRK on Tuesday morning.
It's really busy Saturday afternoon. I recently counted 10 arrivals in less than 30 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. I am convinced that the Border Control queue slows down deliberately as a means of controlling how many people are in baggage re-claim, otherwise it would be total carnage down there.

I have just returned from Krakow after a short break.
Sun at 8am, they were waiting for me at Security and I walked straight through. Disappointed that it was a standard Ryanair B738. Unless I wasn't paying attention, I didn't get asked if I wanted a drink but I wasn't that bothered as Ryanair have "card only" payments. Cabin service was acceptable - just - but then I usually fly Jet2/KLM.
I got the max on the return journey this morning but we had to do a couple of holds due to mist on the landing zone. We landed on 14, very late and the Pilot slammed all on the brakes and we managed to turn at the end. Aircraft were taking off on 32 so we may have done a tail wind landing.

That's me done for this year, getting more difficult to get my wife to travel. I am not complaining, she lets me go on my own, obviously glad to get rid of me for a couple of days. Don't they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder"

The RVR on 32 was 150m despite the general area being bright and sunny. The RVR on 14 was greater than 1500m! Barely any wind so the three FR flights in the hold all landed on 14. Suspect you slammed on the brakes to enable vacation down the taxiway asap and to avoid holding up departing flights off 32.

I was pricing up a January trip to Warsaw. Wizz prices are very attractive, yet flat times are poor. Looking at travelling there with Wizz on the 8am, and back with Ryanair on the (what I remeber to be) 18:30.

I am liking your thinking here. So many have slated the Wizz timings but quite rightly why not use each airline each way, and that can also be true for those originating the European end. So rather than be just competition for each other, they may also complement one another and help grow the market. Bring it on

Just booked MAN-LHR with connecting onward flight. Not happy, it's very frustrating living less than 5 miles from LBA and having to drive past it on my way to MAN to fly on an airline/route that remains 'suspended' from LBA since Covid with no sign of reinstatement.

Not according to the website list of destinations in Poland. I also did a search within the website but came up as 'not found' Think they need to update it.
They just need to replace the airport website. It's rarely up to date and if, as the airport told me, they are unable to add routes without jumping through various hoops, then it's not fit for purpose.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
