Just booked flights with Jet2 to Murcia flying in August. Very expensive this year and the only reason we haven't booked with Monarch or Ryanair is either lack of choice or availability of flights to Murcia. Looks like Jet2 is moving away from being our holiday company of choice.

Surley Ryanair and Monarch into Alicante would have been cheaper than Jet2? saying that I guess it just depends where you travelling to in the area.

We looked at Alicante as an alternative but the saving wasn't worth the treck and additional expense considering we're staying 5 minutes away from Murcia airport.

Re: Church Fenton - Thread

I am off to Tenerife soon and booked the whole thing through Jet 2 Holidays. The price for two £775 including an apartment and transfers seemed pretty good to me.
I do want to try Monarch at some stage later in the year.

Has anybody else got any travel plans for 2015?!

Anybody considering our new route to Naples?! or trying any other new services for 2015?!

I have yet to book anything from LBA yet!

I've booked Jet 2 to Alicante in September and Ryanair back (this was before Monarch confirmed their 2015 plans). Going to Malaga in July and likely to be Jet 2, looking for a city break later in the year (Budapest?) so will be JET 2 yet again

I think it will just be the work trips for me this year, so mainly KLM and perhaps a bit of BA.

Booked so far for 2015 with more to come:

Mar Heathrow – Leeds - A319
Apr Heathrow – Stockholm - A320
Jul Heathrow – Stockholm - A320
Oct Heathrow – Larnaca - 767

Just booked BA

Thurs 12th Feb for £44 one way and returning to LHR on Sun 15th Feb for £52!

Bargain!

I have been looking at the same prices Ap1995 and agree that they are very reasonable. I am going to London next weekend and my first choice was to fly. Believe it or not though, I had to abandon those plans because I could not find a convenient, quick and cheap way of getting from where I will be on Saturday afternoon to the airport for the 5pm departure. I flatly refuse to pay an extra £30 on top of airfare to get a taxi to LBA and to catch buses would have been too slow. So I am driving down instead.

AGP - March Jet2
PMI - June Jet2
AGP - September Jet2

Waiting for other airlines to release flights for December this year to decide whether to take the plunge and book week after Christmas as well.

just booked x5 family members on LBA - ALC with Monarch

29th March - 5th April

and me and x1 family member on

LBA - ALC with Monarch

29th March - 2nd April

Flights considerable cheaper then Jet2

Going to JFK in April with BA/AA mix. LBA-LHR-JFK-LHR-LBA. Normally go to Barcelona in September but haven't booked that yet. Normally fly with MON for the trip, but as they have made the BCN a much later departure in the day (than previous years), then looks like it will be Jet2.

Today with KLM LBA-AMS-FCO-PSA returning Saturday (hopefully) VLC-MAD-LHR-LBA. First time for a few year using LBA, normally use HUY but no suitable connections back from Valencia were available. Will start to use more now as Car Park is much cheaper and you can get a bacon buttie in the Yorkshire Lounge.

There is no way this post has anything to do with promotion

but, if anyone is looking to book a summer holiday/break,

do check out Monarch's prices for beginning of July, especially routes like ALC and PMI

absolutely cracking prices, in some cases its half of what Jet2 are charging!

hi ap1995
if only they would fly to Malaga ex LBA,still I can live in hope.
sm1 :dunno:

Ap1995: Were looking to fly to Palma early July to meet up with friends.
At the moment there is £3 between Monarch and Jet2 prices, £395 to £398, not really a huge difference. This is for flights, hold luggage, seat allocation and pre booking, making both bookings a close as possible to be equal.

Tarn Spotter: you must be looking at the Saturday flights.. obviously very popular, therefore more expensive.

however just looking for the 1st July for 1 week with everything you said included for £189 pp with Monarch.

Having a quick look on sky scanner, on the same dates with just the flights:

RYR are at £120
MON are at £140
LS are at £184

I do find Jet2 to be rather expensive this year, which reflects our choice of airline as we are now flying with Monarch to ALC instead of Jet2 which we usually fly with every year.

ap1995: No the flights were 2nd July return 9th July, both Thursdays.
Ryanair flights for the same dates are like for like £357 each, there hold charges are £35 each, nearly double Jet2.
Looks like Ryanair as we can seat book with them and guaranteee being in the first 90 to take cabin luggage on board.
For me no good just looking at flight costs, we need to take all the other costs in to account. including taking credit card costs, would never buy using my debit card, need the money back guarantee.

Another BA flight booked, this time

BA1342 LHR - LBA 6th March
BA1347 LBA - LHR 15th March

Along with:

BA1342 - LHR - LBA 12th February
BA1347 - LBA - LHR 15th February

&

ZB1236 - LBA - ALC 29th March
ZB1237 - ALC - LBA 5th April

Just booked onto the late Southbound to Heathrow on 26th Feb. Can't argue with the £46 fare - the late southbound has been a revelation for me. It has meant I can do a full day of work and not have to worry about rushing to Leeds train station. I would personally be sad to see it go if BA were ever to night stop the aircraft. I will be staying in London overnight before flying out to Helsinki from Gatwick the morning after. However, I do think an earlier morning departure time and a later return to LBA would open up far more travel options for me in the long run.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
