Just back from Torremolinos, by heck it was cold Wed/Thu. As posted else where, the o/b flight on Monday was delayed but with only 55 on board, paying for seats together was a waste of money. Coming back yesterday with 71 on board we arrived 15 mins early. Service and friendliness of staff was excellent.
I would definitely use them again, ah I have already booked in March to BCN.

I'm guessing you used Monarch!?

Those figures are dire... let's hope they bounce back in the summer or LBA could be in for the chop!

:wtf:

I wonder what will happen when the fleet changes to B737-800 max aircraft which are heavier then the B737-800 aircraft.
Will they have restricted take off weights and how about Cat 3 operations with the new machines.
Another uncertain situation coming up in the near future.

Those figures are the same through out the whole Monarch network, the Christmas Monarch flights went out full and been told Tenerife is going out with over 100 on each flight (not the best but not the worst) and I've been told that Monarch bookings are up 20% with prices being slashed, sounds to me and is look like Monarch will be having a very busy summer.

And don't forget they now have the backing of Thomas Cook group selling holidays using Monarch flights as well from Leeds/Bradford once again, which should help fill some of those seats this summer and next winter!

Just back from an extremely cold Bratislava, needless to say having used Ryanair. Friday mornings flight only looked to have about 6 empty seats or so and there were 174 pax on board on the flight in last night. Things a little disjointed in the LBA terminal whilst the refurb is on going but overall no complaints.

Not sure Monarch slashing prices good news, when they issued their last accounts in December they stated 2017 sales were 40% up on the current, year and in October when the new funds injected to save their ATOL licence they advised that low oil prices and a hope that 2017 would not have any tourists shocks would be the key to their success.
Since this date oil prices have gone up 17% and the pound agaisnt the dollar has weakened slightly.
The citys view was that extra funds were only injected by Greybull to save the 75m already invested in Monarch, as without a ATOL certificate a sale not feasible.
Its now looks like Hainan Airlines which was seen as the likely buyer no longer has an interest.
When I checked Monarch against Jet2 back end of last year Monarch was cheaper, not sure it make sense to cut further when your principle cost of running is raising. OPEC are cutting 1m barrels a day to force the price up.

I'm slightly nervous about the forecast of fog and and a Southerly wind tomorrow.

Wish me luck on the BA1347 tomorrow

I would estimate around 50 on the BA1342 yesterday. Good news is the toilets in arrivals have been re-furbished to a high standard. The bad news is the gents is far too small with a queue forming even yesterday.

Good 120 - ish on the return this morning (BA1347) with the vast majority of passengers heading for flight connections. Sounded like half the flight were heading to New York (lucky them).

Just booked my brother and his friend on Jet2 Holidays, Ibiza on 16th August till the 20th.. comparing prices with Thomas Cook and Thomson, Jet2 was cheaper by £200

Just shows why they are catching in passenger numbers the old fashioned package holiday operators, Thomsons seem to be pushing themselves into the upmarket consumer bracket, where they can provide a full service to older passenegers who want an off the shelf holiday and someone to hold their hands at all stages.

Soz Peter and Bigman going to break a promise as won't be up at Multiflight cafe for next 2 weekends.

As I'm Flying with Jet2 from Leeds on Sunday moring 09:30, LS477 departure to Las Palmas (Gran Canary) after booking a last minute weeks all inclusive holiday with Jet2holidays.

I am off to Brussels soon from Manchester which bugs me !
My return flight with Brussels Airlines is cheaper than the transport to Manchester Airport and back from Leeds by road.

It's a shame no one has taken up the LBA-BRU gap left by BMI. Would think that there would be enough of a market for a small regional aircraft for point to point and connections onto Brussels Airlines.

Booked for early April with Jet2 Holidays to Rome. I looked at the same package booking flights separately and hotel through Expedia and the Jet2 deal was 15% cheaper. Comparable flights from MAN were more expensive with Jet2, though Ryanair was slightly cheaper. But I don't get up in the middle of the night to get a 0600hrs flight from MAN to save a few quid when I can fly with a much better outfit from my local airport at 0740hrs. No brainer.

Flying home on jet2 LS478 service from Gran Canaria to Leeds tomorrow afternoon. Hoping the weather plays nicely for our arrival. Been told we've been allocated Boeing 737-8MG, G-JZHO.
Can't you arrange to stay a bit longer?! You will definitely not like the air that rushes in through that cabin door when they open it tomorrow afternoon. It's 'orrible across here. Happy landings.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
