Went out on LS205 to AMS on Tuesday afternoon this week. About 80/90 on board. AMS is so easy to transit - the only frustration being the long inbound taxi from the Poulder runway. Came back last night on the 206 which had only three spare seats as far as I could see. Unfortunately delayed an hour due to a passenger drinking his own alcohol being asked to leave the aircraft. The guy was not abusive or aggresive but the crew clearly decided he was beyond the point of acceptability. Pity he was allowed on in the first place. The approach into LBA was reasonably smooth but the landing was one that the crew would not want to put their names to! We hit hard and bounced - the third landing in the sequence was OK but the previous two..... blimey!!! There was a a bit of a breeze 'cross wind' of 32 but nothing untoward. No issues at LBA - through border control quickly and bags were already on the conveyor probably 5/10 minutes or so after the aircraft parked on stand.

Just returned from NZ, flew to LHR 2 Nov on BA1343 about 70 pax. The return on 24 Nov, BA 1346 had 95 pax.

We were about 100 miles from the epicentre, but fortunately they was no damage to our hotel and being just after midnight, didn't see a thing. After checking the hotel was OK, went back to bed for another 3 hours kip.

Recieved an e-mail confirmation from Thomas Cook last night saying my flight with Envolope airlines to Palma next year has been cancelled and now rransfered on to the Monarch flight which suites me.

short break to Malta - flew out Sunday 04/12/2016 on brand new EI-FTE returning on 07/12/2016 on older EI-EST, on way out I'd estimate about 120 passengers, returning home much fuller. I have to say the comfort of the slimline seating and subtle lighting system (not to mention a much less garish application of Ryanair's marker-pen yellow colour on the overhead luggage bins) made for a much nicer flying experience on the outward trip. Credit to Ryanair, both flights on time, and at £51 return a great bargain.

There appeared to be quite a large number of Maltese passengers on board on both legs. I hope they weren't too disappointed by the frankly shabby arrivals experience at Leeds. Whilst the aircraft parked comfortably close to the terminal on stand 9, the walkway is rather nasty, and once inside the terminal, several passengers with infants in pushchairs had a real struggle with the staircase.

hi bobleeds
dont get me started about that blxxdy staircase or the outdated arrivals very 1970s.

Quite so Snowman.
On recent flights, I had been "protected" from the typical arrivals experience by being on the BA Shuttle, which as far as I know always uses an airbridge, thus disembarking passengers at 1st floor level. The Airport must make provision of escalators and lifts a top priority in their plans.

Booked with monarch holidays 1 week Tenerife in march £971 same holiday with jet 2 £1,240 same week, same hotel

Just booked a weekend in Bratislava for the 13th Jan. £29 return
Spending 2 nights in Bratislava then train to Vienna for the last night. Coach from Vienna back to Bratislava Airport direct on the Monday afternoon.

Just booked a return up to Leeds with BA obviously.

That will be 6 flights in 3 months on the LHR - LBA route or 5.5 if you factor in the canx return last month .

Just booked a return trip to Alicante for 2 family members, 18th July to 25th July, £75 each with Monarch, Jet2 was nearly double.. no brainer really! Monarch seem to have some very competitive fares at the minute, definitely worth taking advantage of.

The Latvian lady who serves me my Costa every morning was complaining that the cheap flights from LBA to RIX are costing her a fortune with hoardes of her relatives jumping on flights and coming to stay with her all the time. 6 of them were going back out on FR2482 today after spending Christmas here!

Booked on the BA flight to and from London next month, flying out on 20th and coming back on 25th.

Also just booked a return with Jet2 to and from New York in November.

Haven't flown from LBA for a few years now so it's gonna be interesting to see what changes have occurred.

I haven't booked anything recently from LBA - my next trip is to Hong Kong from Manchester - however I have been looking at www.kayak.co.uk which shows on a map the fare available to destinations around the globe from any airport you enter. Looking at the options from LBA, there are some very good looking prices for destinations further afield than the usual Jet2 and Ryanair options, usually connecting through Dublin, Heathrow or Amsterdam. I just thought I would share if a bit of inspiration is required and folk are reasonably flexible. The only reason I haven't booked myself is the necessity to buy a house which has stunted my travel plans for the time being....

Have to say as a family in the last year have used Dublin as a hub to fly west (used to be manchester/Shannon) and heathrow to fly East and have used Paris before all from LBA.
Previously have used Frankfurt from Manchester to go East and Dubai for the India/Pakistan region from manchester
It can bring huge savings especially if your prepared to change airlines.
My OH mentions going via Amsterdam often, will make sure she does not read this thread, as I know best!!!!!

Just back from Torremolinos, by heck it was cold Wed/Thu. As posted else where, the o/b flight on Monday was delayed but with only 55 on board, paying for seats together was a waste of money. Coming back yesterday with 71 on board we arrived 15 mins early. Service and friendliness of staff was excellent.
I would definitely use them again, ah I have already booked in March to BCN.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
