Whilst listening to some music on Youtube I have just sat through a lovely 2 min advertisement from Loganair starting off with various members of staff waving and saying "Hello Birmingham" followed by some nice words with the boss.

I googled it with the intention of posting it on here but could only find the same advert but with Belfast :ROFLMAO:

Nice touch though and it was a decent ad (y)

I used to get on the ones that preceeded the one shown they had open platforms at the back and you could hop on or off before it stopped or chase after it when late for work.

I mostly got the 58 or 60 at the Wheatshief on the Coventry Rd as an apprentice at the BSA in Small Heath or to go to the Blues neither great experiences really but the BSA did serve me in good stead and as for the Blues?

A bit of thread drift.

The bus museum is very good & much bigger than I thought it would be with buses from all ages plus a steam railway (you can ride on) with a station named elmdon halt, I took a picture of it but can’t upload to this site

A most undervalued asset, but a great day out for bus fans, I like the old Midland Red as they served my district of 'Worlds End ' in Quinton, going to Oldbury.

A serious drift from aviation but memories respect no boundaries.

It’s still aviation... as the new Birmingham airport advert is still on the bus, goes to show what high quality the advert/sticker was they used in 1984 !

Excellent picture (y)

I was going to ask is it worth a visit as my lad loves anything transport related. If there is a train ride thrown in it will make his day :)

The little Train rides ( additional £ ) are part of elmdon model society & it operates on a Saturday & also when the transport museum has special days -
As I mentioned it was my first visit & really enjoyed it .....

The line is snow hill to Stratford, but wythal station Is a long way from transport museum .... but the museum do have buses picking people up from city centre by the rep (?) on certain event days & it may even be part of ticket price

Just had a quick look at BHX own web site & looked at destinations and Prague Lisbon & Paris are not showing ANY information on the new flights starting this week, i would expect BHX making lots of noise about new flights that are operating!

Nothing on FB or Twitter either. The most recent post on both was 'Welcome back' to British Airways on the Belfast route. This is just typical of many missed opportunities to market the routes and provide interest in BHX. The department responsible seem to be asleep but sadly this is not new as its gone on for several years

It's not beyond the bounds of possibility they are keeping quiet given the circus going on in Glasgow as aviation is seen as the big bad wolf, having said that the BHX promotions team or whatever they are called have not exactly been the most pro active for some time.

BHX on Twitter man. I commented with a pic because i was 1st flight on BA to Belfast. Just saying great to see BA back at BHX. They deleted the tweet & reuploaded it... I never got that from LHR or Manchester or even Glasgow. BHX Media Team don't like me :ROFLMAO:.

I think the adverts are specifically for the country of Qatar, rather than Qatar airways ?? I have seen them on all the electronic billboards across the city centre.

Is it me or does Turkey have a lot of adverts on TV ??

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
