According to this article the Bulgaria flights weren't as successful as they thought they'd be so they chopped them.

Don't know what they were expecting. The BHX flights were always rammed. With that sort of market Wizz ought to have been able to adjust their pricing if they felt it necessary.

They obviously got the market right before they began the route but apparently (if we really are to believe this reason and I'm not convinced) not the fare levels.

I can give a number of Ryanair examples, not particularly BHX-related, where routes have been axed with a history of exceptionally high load factors all the time. We all know that yield is what matters and that fare prices are probably the most important component, so why don't airlines when they assess a market correctly prior to commencing a route also establish the sort of fares needed to make it a success?

Could Ryanair expanding in Bulgaria be the reason Wizz is cutting it's UK routes?

Very much doubt it as the new aircraft will be Luton based so LTN-LCA-LTN
Just hoped they might think about basing an aircraft or two at BHX. Pretty keen on expanding at LTN going from 1 to 4 based aircraft.

The routes from LTN are a bit strange - all Eastern Europe apart from LCA.

All about London at the moment it seems as they recently said that Luton will see 7 aircraft added over the next couple of years, so these are just the start.

It'd be nice to see a based aircraft but I'd be happy with a couple of new routes (Riga for starters) and some frequency increases (Budapest for starters).

Wizz Air announced on 30 Nov they had obtained Monarch slots / stands at Luton and are now going up to 7 aircraft in 2018 having previously announced an increase to 5 aircraft.
Could do with some increases from them at Birmingham.

Budapest is loaded for winter, still just 2x weekly (Tue and Sat) with the Thur flight over the Christmas period.

I hope that Jet2 are looking at this route for next summer.

Wizz Air's Summer schedule is now only showing A321's on the early morning Warsaw flights (2 to 3 times a week), all other flights are scheduled to be A320's

Is that the same as last summer, with Bucharest and Budapest reverting back to A321 for winter?

Bucharest and Warsaw are now showing for winter, both at 3x weekly.

Warsaw is an 07:40 arrival and 08:15 departure on Tue, Thur and Sun.

Bucharest is a 21:20 arrival and 21:55 departure (03:15 arrival in OTP :wideyed: ) on Tue, Thur and Sat.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
