Why are airlines unable to locate Birmingham on the UK Map, first Air Erbil put Brum in the north sea and now Wizzair puts Brum in Bristol :rage:

BIRMINGHAM IS IN THE HEART OF ENGLAND,GET IT

Out of interest was he banned from here? I saw he commented on the dried fruit saying that he was “unable” to post on here which I thought was strange, especially as Dobbo left the exact same day.

I believe they both were removed I think Aviador posted something about it but probably best not to go there.

Manchester do`nt want Premier for US flights as they will upset everybody and then fall in a heap

Yeah its funny how he is always the first to post good news and bad news for BHX as if it his duty to do so.

I think i know who you mean Yokel ;)

"Without my moderator hat on".

That's a bit harsh in my opinion. The former member in question was a source of very good information and is missed by many.

The fact that he appears to have inside information, and is prepared to share it on various forums, should not be a reason for knocking him.

"Back in my box now."

It was just a tongue and cheek comment, no offense intended to all calm down and yes all on the dried fruit get back in your soap box.

Moving on

Wizz Air launches new Birmingham-Cluj connection
Wizz Air has launched a new route from Birmingham Airport to Cluj International Airport in Romania, with seats on sale now.

The new service, which connects the second largest cities in Britain and Romania, will commence on December 16th.

With historic sites and buildings, a booming tech economy, a thriving nightlife scene, festivals of every variety and easy access to the Carpathian Mountains with their stunning natural attractions, there’s something for everyone in the vibrant city of Cluj.

Passengers from Birmingham can fly to six destinations in Poland, Hungary and Romania.

This year has been a year of massive growth for Wizz Air’s UK operations, following the launch of Wizz Air UK in May and the increase of its local UK fleet to eight Airbus aircraft.

The new service between Birmingham and Cluj brings the total number of new UK routes for 2018 to 14; London Luton to Larnaca, Tirana, Tallinn, Bratislava, Lviv, Athens, Keflavik, Eilat, Grenoble, Verona, Bari and Tromsø, and Doncaster Sheffield to Debrecen.

This year the company offers more than 8.7 million seats from nine UK airports, available on 76 routes, making it the third largest low-cost airline in the country.

Wizz Air chief corporate officer, Owain Jones, said: “Wizz Air continues to expand and invest in our UK operations, growing our network across the country.

“Cluj is an exciting new destination for our customers in the Midlands – the historic Transylvanian university city of culture and nightlife with a booming economy and easy access to the natural wonder of the Carpathian Mountains is an ideal choice for a city break with a difference.

“We’re proud that Wizz Air’s genuinely low fares give our UK customers the opportunity to explore many unique and interesting destinations and enjoy great service onboard one of Europe’s youngest and most efficient aircraft fleets.”

This is not directed at anyone in particular, it's merely my opinion but I think it best not to discuss forumers, past or present, on the public message boards, especially when those mentioned are not in a position to respond directly. There will understandably be questions but I think they may be best suited to a pm to any of the Mods or Administrators who will try to answer them as openly as possible, although there may be occasions when confidentiality needs to be respected. As said, that is not directed at any one individual so I do hope that nobody is offended :)

Getting back to Wizz, it's great to see Cluj make a swift return and that they haven't given up on the UK outside of Luton. I believe DSA or LPL also have a new Wizz route starting this year at some point?

As said, lets hope for more soon :)

What we really need is a press release which mentions 14 new routes from BHX as that one did for LTN. Good to see Cluj not lost forever. Obviously did not meet expectations for Blue.

My question is, did Blue Air drop Cluj because they knew Wizz were starting the route? Or, have Wizz stepped in because Blue Air have abandoned it?

I guess we'll never know for certain but Blue Air dropped quite a number of routes from Cluj, I think they only have four year round routes left, so I'd imagine that Wizz saw the opportunity and stepped in.

Blue air closed their Cluj base with the loss of 8 year round routes including BHX and LTN.

This would suggest Wizz are filling that gap instead of Blue Air fearing wizz ... infact Wizz and Blue Air have both been running LTN-CLJ successfully together for the last 2 years!

Connecting passengers to Cluj- Napaco the second most populous city in Romania it also gives passengers a gateway to Transylvania, a region whose beauty and mystery live up to its reputation. Cluj is also becoming a go to destination for Music and Film festivals along with Cluj being a go to destination for nature addicts and avid city explores with pretty sights, coffee and cocktails and a nature and urban development there is something for everyone.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
