According to the LBA arrivals the flight is showing as 'non operational' today. Any ideas??

Morning Bigman. There are two arrivals shown on the board at 13.40 and 14.40 so the latter has been deemed non operational as we only have one arrival of course.

Thick or what!!! Too early in the morning for me scottrhino to notice obvious stuff like that!!!!

The Air Europa charter flight been operated on behalf of Thomson Holidays to Palma-Majorca which actually also starts this Friday morning (My have missed informed a few members regards start date) is also not showing on the LBA website.
Knew the inbound AEA337 which is due in at 09:30 might not appear on the arrivals board with it been a positioning sector but thought the first outbound AEA338 which is due out at 10:20 would have be listed on the departure boards.

It is now! Inbound and outbound, and with the logo.

Just a shame they STILL haven't got round to Balkan Holidays logo!! anybody know how the first loads were today

Really? :banghead: Balkan have been flying into Leeds nearly as long as i've been interested in aviation. (that's a really long time!)

True Aviador but in the past we had Balkan Bulgarian, an Air VIA. We have only had Balkan Holidays and their own A320's for around 10 years now, so perhaps we need to give LBA some more time to sort out the logo! They have managed to find one for Carpatair who visit only occasionally when Catalan Dragons are in town, so there remains hope.

And I understand the Balkan logo is there now, as if by magic. But the Carpatair logo has disappeared again. Oh dear!

I don't know if it is a sign of things to come with the Guernsey route but, as my other half got a tiny bit annoyed with me for going to Jersey and Guernsey without her, I decided to look at flights to find out how much they would cost if she was able to join me. The flight on which I am booked back in from Guernsey in September is sold out. It seems to be the only one that is but it can't be a bad thing, can it?

You could always book her on the Eastern to Southampton and then an overnight ferry!!

I think I'll just go back to assuming that she doesn't have enough holiday left to book at work which is why I didn't ask in the first place....

I am surprised it has taken them so long to operate a service as LBA has a "history" of GCI services - British A/W, Dan Air, KLMuk, Capital A/L, Jersey European.

Aurigny released their winter 2017/18 schedule for sale today.

Bad news is that the airlines Leeds/Bradford – Guernsey service see’s a massive reduction in flights as its looking like the route is no longer going to be operated year round from end of summer season (Saturday October 28th 2017). This winter season has seen them operating 2x weekly on Mondays & Fridays.

Good news is as things stand at the moment Aurigny will be operating the following below listed 8x flights during the Christmas/New Year’s period and the February half term holidays.

December 2017
SUN 24TH = AUR664 - GCI: 08:00 LBA: 09:40 / AUR665 = LBA 10:10 GCI 11:50
WED 27TH = AUR664 - GCI: 12:00 LBA: 13:40 / AUR665 = LBA 14:10 GCI 15:50
THU 28TH = AUR664 - GCI: 12:00 LBA: 13:40 / AUR665 = LBA 14:10 GCI 15:50
SAT 30TH = AUR664 - GCI: 09:00 LBA: 10:40 / AUR665 = LBA 11:10 GCI 12:50
January 2018
MON 1ST = AUR664 - GCI: 12:00 LBA: 13:40 / AUR665 = LBA 14:10 GCI 15:50
TUE 2ND = AUR664 - GCI: 12:00 LBA: 13:40 / AUR665 = LBA 14:10 GCI 15:50
February 2018
SAT 17TH = AUR664 - GCI: 08:00 LBA: 09:40 / AUR665 = LBA 10:10 GCI 11:50
SAT 24TH = AUR664 - GCI: 08:00 LBA: 09:40 / AUR665 = LBA 10:10 GCI 11:50

Whilst the loss of the service through the whole of the winter season is a disappointment, I think this still shows that GR are committed to the route and let's face it we are still in the first 12 months of operation. Even JER which has a larger market doesn't even support any year round operation. There is plenty of time for GR to build up the route and we haven't even had a GCI service for years so what we have got is a definite plus. Slowly but surely year on year they may be prepared to extend the operational dates. If Tour Operators and direct booking pax support the route then GR aren't stupid they will see what demand is there. They are not a reckless airline. GR and GCI I am sure are here to stay even if in a worse case it becomes a weekend summer only service, but they definitely seem more committed to the route than that.

Part of the problem also is that this year, the Channel Islands have suffered from a lot of fog and as a result Aurigny have frequently had to cancel the flights, which must cost them dear, particularly if the flight isn't full either. A slight profit and can easily turn into a loss when you are having to put up passengers or find other ways to get them home. I always felt that an all year round route to Guernsey was perhaps being over optimistic - the summer operations plus those on selected dates through the winter is probably a good compromise

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
