Because my account is anonymous, but i’m still being cautious, this colour is the only clue I want to give, but it should be more than enough ;)

Orange!

Thought you might have realized what I meant by using "opposite of difficult" instead of the obvious, but I guess by then units of alcohol was in triple figures!

I am beyond worrying about unit intake of possibly the most enjoyable method of medication that is also legal. Anyway, a forum member rising to a commercial flight deck is worth a bit of the morning curse!

On this evening's Planespotting episode I'm pretty sure they referred to the 767 as the "younger brother" of the 777. I'm also pretty sure that is inaccurate :penguin:

What I endured was a presenter team that did not know when to shut up!! Why have a military expert if constantly interrupting or plain wittering and cross talking......I used to do my spotting in silence, preferably alone so that engine music could not be ruined by humans making noises. I am sorry but the heat irritates me and last night was evil!!

Sir Raymond? Would I know of this person....err..was it thee be chance?

I was particularly irritated, and I think that the expert was too, by Andi Peters constantly referencing the film Top Gun. I only had half an eye on it but I think that the pilot ended up snapping at him saying that these military pilots were highly trained and very professional individuals.

Definitely not me.

It was someone who is not a hardcore regular on here but they do post from time to time.

Andi Peters.....never come across him but the name and his delivery suggests children's BBC, it kind of rings a bell.....but it was that female irritant, reminded me of a nasty infection down there o_O that had me begin reading a copy of Archbold's Criminal Pleadings for light relief!

Yes, Andi Peters did present CBBC in the past and seems to have been stuck in that mode for the three programs. Overall, I found the series very amateurish. Andi Peters was childish, whilst Peter Snow didn’t seem to have much idea of what was going on.

Zoe Laughlin, although I found her ‘quirky’, at least she had an enthusiasm and knowledge of the subjects she presented (although in the first program, dressed in a baggy denim one-piece with the trouser legs rolled up about 3 inches, brightly coloured training shoes, ‘big’ curly hair and a giant black fluffy microphone below her chin, I couldn’t get the image of a clown out of my head. I don’t mean that to be dis-respectful, it’s just the image it portrayed to me).

Arthur Williams was the best of the four presenters in my opinion, but then he is a qualified pilot. I’ve watched other aviation documentaries that he’s presented and found them enjoyable.

It could have been so much better and given the general public a good overview of our hobby. One example, being Peter Snow referring to ‘runway twenty seven ell’. Say it correctly, it’s ‘runway two seven left’. They could then explain how runways are designated by magnetic heading and that if you have two runways at the same airport with the same heading they have the designation ‘L’ and ‘R’ added.

The most interesting and informative people were the two former pilots, the retired lady who had flown for British Airways and the man who’d had a military career. If it could all have been at this level, the series would have been much better.

Also, I’m sure Andi Peters said something about a great Spitfire photo, when a picture of a Westland Lysander was show. This, after he claimed to be a ‘plane spotter’.

At the end of the final program, they ran out of time to show the ‘miniature’ planes – basically Airfix models (other kit manufacturers are available). Andi Peters said they would be featured in the second series. I’m not sure there will be one.

That Archbold must have been a naughty boy, if there's a whole book dedicated to his criminal pleadings :wideyed:

Kevin

That 'Archbold's' book had 3058 pages and titled Criminal Pleadings, Evidence and Practice. It is a Lawyers Bible and any visit to a Solicitor's office shall often show walls full of books of this kind. The contents show the Law in Statute form as passed by Act of Parliament, then broken down into chunks of commentary that non Lawyers can understand and illustrated with case law and how the courts disposed of matters with relevant law. Updated annually with new laws etc.

Like I said, light reading because those presenters got me so wound up. Very little plane spotting and a lot of nothing, hardly an advert for a fascinating hobby that can give so much.

To be clear, just my personal take on the matter as te Concorde programme had Messrs. Trubshaw and Bannister to help educate the viewer.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
